While scientists at CERN grapple with the mysterious energy leak and strange code that signals an extradimensional breach, Samuel attempts to convince his unbelieving mother and eventually his friends, Tom and Maria, that the demonic horde is invading their small town and must be stopped. The narrative culminates in the children, aided by Nurd and the unexpected resistance of townspeople like Mr. and Mrs. Mayer and local police officers, confronting the demonic forces, culminating in Samuel's successful disruption of the portal and the temporary defeat of the powerful demon Ba’al.
