​This month I caught up with Josh Purvis and Shane Pittman on their ten-plus years’ experience in the paranormal field. Together, they share their insights and ideas about what spirits are, ideas such as the hive theory, lidar technology, and much more!  

The Searchers are a group of friends from Georgia who came together with a common goal: to search for answers to the mysteries of the paranormal world. They locate, research, and report on locations that the average person wouldn’t dare step inside. 

Josh Purvis has been involved in the paranormal industry for 12 years. His first paranormal experience occurred at the Sorrell-Weed house in Savannah, Georgia. He and his wife were participating in a haunted tour and snapped several photos in the basement. On their drive home, they found an apparition of a woman in one of their pictures, and Josh was hooked. He has investigated locations across the southeast, searching for ghosts, aliens, and even the elusive Bigfoot, in addition to having a strong background in filmmaking. Through his paranormal interests, he met Shane Pittman about 10 years ago, and the idea of Searchers began. The rest, as they say, is history.

 As seen on Travel Channel's The Holzer Files, Shane Pittman is an equipment technician who has had profound unexplained paranormal experiences since childhood. Pittman became determined to learn as much as he could by researching every possible technological method, in the hopes of finding the truth about his otherworldly encounters. Pittman strives to use his passion for modern technology to advance the field of paranormal study, attempting to scientifically validate paranormal experiences using the latest techniques available. Author/paranormal researcher Carl L. Johnson and Theologian James Annitto, both of whom are highly regarded in the related fields of demonology and para-psychological exploration, offer their advice and expertise into the realm of demons.

Carl and James talk about their lives as demonologists, taking us through their process of determining a demonic attachment from other phenomena in the quest to help their clients. Join us as we take a deeper dive into the realm of demonic lore and theories as to why demonology has become so popular on the paranormal front. Carl explains his avocation as follows: "Demonology is concisely defined as the systematic study of the lore and cultural traditions of 'wicked spirits'."

Specializing as a demonologist, Carl Johnson continues his exploration of occurrences suspected of being of preternatural origin. He writes and lectures on related topics and is well-versed in arcane lore. He is the co-author, along with Lana J. Brock, of "Shadow Realms Demonology Handbook". ​​ Carl L. Johnson has been investigating reports of strange phenomena for the past 47 years, beginning with his association with noted ghost-hunting couple Ed and Lorraine Warren. As members of a team based at Rhode Island College, Carl and his twin brother Keith were called in to investigate the Perron family's farmhouse in Harrisville, Rhode Island during August and September of 1973 and they alerted the Warrens to the Perron's situation.

James Annitto is a Deacon and a Demonologist who has worked alongside many other specialists in this field. James is also a paranormal investigator/researcher and member of Duo Daemonologie, Paranormal Phenomena Research & Investigation (PPRI), Sanctuary Paranormal, and the former founder/owner of The Dominion Ministry. He has been in the paranormal field since the early age of 15, investigating graveyards and legendary surroundings in the New England area such as Mercy Brown, Ladd School, USS Salem, and Slater Mill.

The Christmas Demon is a very tall, horned monster, and the horns are described as long goat horns. He has brown or blackish fur, a long tail, long tongue, claws, fangs, he has a goat-like beard and his feet are hooves. Often, he drags chains around and makes a huge ruckus when he comes around.

Krampus. He is known for whipping, kidnapping, and even eating children who were naughty. Legend says this demonic figure was a helper to the original Western European St. Nicholas, a somewhat precursor to the American Coca-Cola Santa Claus. What else about Christmas makes you all warm and fuzzy inside?

Regina Armstrong and Victoria Vancek of Haunted History BC are two sisters who reside in BC’s lower mainland and we have an interest in all things haunted and historical. As historians, their goal is to explore and to share an appreciation for all places eerie, beautiful, and old because those places have stories worth telling.

The Western United States has long been a place run by wild horses, wild rogues, and as it turns out wild energies. In this episode, members of the Te-Moak tribe of Western Shoshone and founders of the Native Paranormal Seekers speak about the spiritual traditions, cultures, and entities of the West. Small Town Tales Podcast October 2021

Join me in this episode of Small Town Tales Podcast with special guest Heavenly Helen and her partner Mark Lovatt-Harris as they discuss living life together as paranormal investigators. They compare themselves to the British version of the Warrens, and rightly so. Helen is a clairvoyant, and Mark is the tech-savvy partner that documents evidence from the scientific side.
