UCSB (18-8, 9-3 in BigWest) gains ground on UC Irvine after winning 3 of 4 games in Honolulu vs the Rainbow Warriors.  Michael McGreevy earns Big West Pitcher of the Week honors after throwing a CG SHO on Friday.  Gauchos get key contributions offensively from Zach Rodriguez, Bryce Willits, Christian Kirtley, and Jordan Sprinkle plus fine starts by Rodney Boone and JD Callahan.  Shane Bieber and Dillon Tate make their MLB season debuts.

Gauchos improve to 15-7 (6-2 BigWest) after sweeping UC Davis in four games over the weekend.  Rodney Boone earns BigWest Pitcher of the Week (for the second time in 2021) after throwing a CG SHO in Game 3.  Zach Rodriguez stays hot with 2 opposite field home runs on Sunday to help the Gauchos complete the sweep.  UCSB Analytics is here to review the weekend and look forward to this weeks series in Hawaii.

With their 11-4 win on Saturday, the Gauchos secured the 300th career win for Head Coach Andrew Checketts who is our first guest on this week's pod as we discuss the weekend series split with Cal State Fullerton and talk about some of the best wins of the last 10 years.  Then UCSB Analytics reviews what was an impressive weekend at the plate for the Gauchos.

UCSB Analytics joins the pod to recap the Gauchos' Week 4 series with San Francisco; 3 big wins including a 14-inning epic that included a lightning delay, next day restart, and 4 Gaucho comebacks in the 9th inning or later.  Weekend performance awards are given out plus we look ahead to the first BigWest Conference series vs Cal State Fullerton.

Former Gaucho RHP Dillon Tate of the Baltimore Orioles jumps on to discuss Spring Training in Florida, his primary focus this off-season, and pitch adjustments.  Then UCSB Analytics pick out the bright spots from a tough weekend at the ballpark and we look ahead to the Week 4 matchup with the University of San Francisco.

Gauchos are off to a hot start after sweeping 4 games from Pepperdine, improving to 6-1 and moving up to #7 in the rankings.  Marcos Castanon and Rodney Boone earn BigWest Player's of the Week honors.  Assistant Coach Dylan Jones helps to recap the weekend and discuss the impact of a strong catching core, then we check in on metrics and our players of the week with UCSB Analytics.

The Gauchos kick off their 2021 season by taking 2 of 3 games from Santa Clara.  Gerry Fall, the Voice of the Gauchos, joins the pod to recap the series and the standout performances by BigWest Field Player of the Week McClain O'Connor and LHP Rodney Boone.  Then UCSB Analytics jumps on to review some of the metrics from the weekend and pick out their top performers.
