Practically the whole world has gotten obese since 1975 by a factor of 300-400%, and COVID would have been far less of a problem in 1975. Why does God ordain for COVID-19 to come now, when 75-80% of the serious cases are weight issues? Eliminating this factor, COVID death rates are about the same as the flu for the 65+ crowd, and COVID is far less lethal for the under 40-crowd. The Stage 2 Obese group is hospitalized at a rate of 42 per 10,000, the Stage 1 Obese group at 23 per 10,000, the Overweight group at 18 per 10,000, and the normal weighted group at only 13 per 10,000. That's a sample size of 340,000 taken in the UK. We discuss the problem and sins attendant to obesity on this edition of the program.
The question of the evolution of man is the Battle of Thermopylae in the War of the Worldviews. Who is this Lucy? And was the Neanderthal a human? What about the South African Homo Naledi? Does the genome point to Eve? And did she live 400,000 years ago or 6,000 years ago? Kevin Swanson interviews Dr. Terry Mortenson for a careful, rational assessment of whatever data is found in the bone fragments, and the latest research on the Genome project. Can we trace the genome back to our original mother Eve? And what are the genetic differences between apes and humans?
The question of resisting or playing along with the system comes up more and more, especially as the system plays an increasingly intrusive role in our lives. Shall we require our 12-year-old children to take the shot? Or more to the point, shall we sign up for welfare payments, or what about Social Security and Medicare? To what extent does a Christian participate?
The public school system is collapsing with the encouragement of sexual anarchy, fighting, and ethical chaos. Discipline is practically impossible now. So what happens when tyranny can’t handle the anarchy? But, how do Christian families deal with fights and conflicts in the home? We discuss spanking, behavioral modifications, and how God wants us to raise our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Americans are dealing with a 50% pay cut since the 1980s, and a 10% pay cut this year. . . but hardly one in a hundred people will figure it out. We explain how a nation is run by a gang of thugs, but then, almost everybody is involved in the dishonesty. What happens when the economy has turned into one gigantic Grab Fest?
Persecution has hit the Christian-owned flower shops, the bakers, and photographers in the West. . . but now pastors? Finnish law enforcement and courts are concluding that the Bible is hate speech. And a pastor is about to pay for using the Bible still. At least 30 churches still teach the faith in Finland to a minimal degree, such that they would uphold the basics of a Biblical ethic. America has stronger foundations in liberty, and we have a shot at the faith surviving here—but only if people will stand up and speak the truth boldly.
Major scientific breakthroughs do not happen every day. They require a combination of inspiration, perspiration, and, of course, the mercy of God. This particular medical invention has contributed to saving millions of lives. Kevin Swanson interviews Dr. Raymond Damadian, the inventor of the first Human Magnetic Resonance Imaging Machine in 1977. Dr. Damadian gives God the glory for this amazing technological breakthrough. Was this the reason he was refused the Nobel Prize in 1984? This story will be a true inspiration to every Christian and to every young person who wants to discover something amazing in God’s great universe. At the end of the program, Dr. Damadian shares the secret of what it takes to produce an invention of great import.
The sheer force of the spirit of the age upon Christian colleges, churches, etc., is enormous. Who do we fear? Where is faith? Evangelicalism measures faith by superficial externals—passion, primal screams, image, the well-put-together makeup, the cool clothing, and a few religious cliches, and "encouraging" memes. But what does real faith look like in the present faith crisis?
The assumptions of systemic racism and the virtues of social justice are increasingly accepted without criticism by higher education. But Grove City College capitulating? That was pretty much the last bastion of critical thinking and a Christian worldview in America. We are amazed at the quick progress made by the Gramscians and anti-Christian forces in almost every institution of our day. The paralyzing fear of offending. . . the snowflakes, the race baiters, the social justice warriors, the BLM crowd. The surrender to irrationality at the university level is mind boggling. Is it time to chuck the liberal arts college and return to a mentorship model?
A very public figure with a huge amount of influence in the Christian world and secular world, Dr. Francis Collins has also become something of a key prototype for the worldview apostasy going on among evangelicals and even pro-life Christians. He is the most famous theistic evolutionist in the country. He's the most famous Christian encouraging the vaccine in the country. He's the most famous Christian scientist endorsing homosexuality. . . and now, the most famous Christian in favor of using an aborted baby for medical research. Is there a connection between these aberrant positions? Should Christian conferences and ministries include Dr. Collins' organization BioLogos in their offerings? And, why is Pastor Tim Keller the go-to theologian for the BioLogos organization?
