The Rittenhouse story has legs to it, and the nation is riveted by this young man and his self-defense case in the Wisconsin courthouse. Without adjudicating the case, we carefully analyze the biblical principles tied into it, and provide general applications to young men. . . to include a thoughtful consideration of the wisdom of Johnny Cash—Don’t Take Your Guns to Town.
Here we grapple with the fundamental question of how to engage with a post-Christian’ish culture. How do we equip our children to know the Christian worldview, to communicate an apologetic, and engage positively in an increasingly anti-Christian culture? How do they think, live, and speak in the world about them?
A listener asks the question: "So many of the Christians I speak with today are willing to just roll over, get the shot, hand over their guns...whatever the ‘authorities’ demand on the basis of Romans 13. I know we have to respect authorities as they have been instituted by God but I also believe that we have to resist tyranny. Can you offer any clarification regarding the application of Romans 13 and whether or not this is a blanket statement calling us to submit to any/all authority or am I missing something in terms of context or interpretation?" An extended discussion ensues on this question: When do we disobey? Or should we rather obey?
With the insane amount of spending over the past decades, America is well on its way to an economic depression. In this edition of Generations, Kevin Swanson and Bill Jack address the oncoming wave of inflation as they speak to what Christians should be doing to prepare for this massive upset in our economy.
Regrets, second thoughts, and a distinct cooling effect are defining some of the Joshua Generation—the first cadre of homeschool graduates. The ra-ra, do-hard-things, take-America-back revolution seems to have fizzled out a bit for Alex Harris and World Magazine, not to mention brother Joshua Harris. This introduces an interesting discussion on puritanism and separatism, taking America back, pessimistic eschatology, salt and light, and the distinct desalination of evangelicalism today.
The enemy has tossed another slippery term into the mix, causing Christians consternation, dividing churches, and making more room for homosexuality. What in the world does “Same-Sex Attraction” mean? There are three to four different definitions, but the obfuscation is purposeful. Why are evangelicals so committed to the position that “Same-Sex Attraction,” “Incestuous Attraction,” etc., is not a sin? Four reasons here. How does a person repenting of homosexuality get in a biblical church? Here are some important pointers that churches should follow, especially in an age of mass apostasy.
As the nation swerves more and more out of control, the civil magistrate abandons its obligations to maintain order in society. The legalization of shoplifting in San Francisco is only a slight example of the larger problem. But the most refreshing indication is that Christian news organizations are finally appealing to the Bible in two instances to buttress their "biblical world and life view."
The Bible warned us about false prophets and teachers–wolves that come for the sheep. This warning is just as prevalent today as it has been at any time in the past. So much of modern Evangelicalism has stumbled thousands, focusing on fluff and personal revelations, rather than the solid substance of God's Word. On this edition of the Generations Radio program, Kevin Swanson interviews Justin Peters of Justin Peters Ministries about the fake Gospel that is so prevalent in today's world, and what Christians need to be doing to focus back on the truth of God's Word.
The World Leaders have almost total unanimity on a green agenda now, with wayward nations repenting of their failure to support the Emperor's New Clothes Initiative. We mosey up to the microphone to ask a few more pointed questions of the wizards that peep and mutter. . . . So what's the downside of more carbon dioxide? And how sure are you of that? How is the average global temperature of the last 40 years different than 1850, 1750, 1650, 1550, and 1450? And how sure are you? Did you have 50,000 thermometers, all carefully calibrated, getting good data? Did you have enough thermometers down in the Mariana Trench in 1350, checking data? What contributes to more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere? And how sure are you of that? And one more question . . . Is this green agenda just plain insanity, or is it engineered to destroy the world economy?
A Cato Institute report concludes that Christianity is the most persecuted religion in the world. But why? What are the forces lined up against the Christian faith? For International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, here is a summary of the most serious challenges facing the church in 2021.
