  • Teach to Reach: Learning about vaccine equity and innovation from people who deliver vaccines
4,454 immunization professionals registered for the third edition of Teach to Reach: Connect, the Geneva Learning Foundation's quarterly networking event.
During this event, participants met in sucsessive one-on-one meetings to discuss three key themes: leadership for Immunization Agenda 2030 (IA2030), vaccine equity, and innovation for immunization.
Here is how participants summed up the value of networking:
“I work in rural areas of my country and did not meet any outside experts. The community and even medical staff are always asking if these vaccines are also used in the USA and in European countries. After Teach to Reach: Connect, I have evidence to convince any resistant people. This event was amazing to me.”
“Networking brings learning to my doorstep. I would not have acquired this learning without this innovative networking platform.”
“I had the privilege to interact with very highly qualified internationally recognized health professionals. It’s like an opportunity to dine with the crème de la crème of global health.”

    WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?
We need fresh insights to support those leading change in districts, health facilities, and communities.
As a global community, we recognize the significance of local action to achieve the global goals.
“The lessons and learning are coming from people who are working in the community. That is where vaccination actually happens. We need to be focusing on the most local level of the immunization programme.” – Kate O'Brien, Director of the Department of Immunization, Vaccines, and Biologicals (IVB), World Health Organization (WHO)
WHY IS THE GENEVA LEARNING FOUNDATION SHARING INSIGHTS?
The Geneva Learning Foundation (TGLF) hosts the largest and fastest-growing community of national and sub-national immunization professionals, with over 40,000 active participants from over 120 countries, as of May 2021. 80% of members are sub-national immunization staff, with strong support and linkage to national teams.
We realized that the valuable multi-country knowledge shared in our programmes should be regularly given back to the community, and that it could also inform our partners in identifying real-time priorities and opportunities and formulating strategies.
The Insights Unit is the Foundation’s research and analysis group. We systematically consolidate and communicate the contributions of learners in the Foundation’s programmes to share back to participants, governments, civil society and development partners.
To synthesize and spread insights, we work in partnership with Bridges to Development, the International Vaccine Access Center (IVAC) at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, and other partners.

  • Immunization Agenda 2030 inaugural lecture by Dr Ann Lindstrand (WHO) and Dr Robin Nandy (UNICEF)
You are invited to join the inaugural lecture and discussion with Dr Ann Lindstrand (WHO) and Dr Robin Nandy (UNICEF) on the occasion of the launch of the second cohort of the WHO Scholar Level 1 certification on Immunization Agenda 2030 (IA2030)
This is a unique opportunity to learn about Immunization Agenda 2030 from two global immunization leaders from WHO and UNICEF who are accountable for the new strategy.
Immunization is one of the best health investments money can buy.
Yet despite tremendous progress, far too many people around the world – including nearly 20 million infants each year – have insufficient access to vaccines.
In some countries, progress has stalled or even reversed, and there is a real risk that complacency will undermine past achievements.
To address these challenges over the next decade, a new global vision and strategy titled ‘Immunization Agenda 2030: A Global Strategy to Leave No One Behind (IA2030)’ has been endorsed by the World Health Assembly.
This inaugural lecture was recorded on 5 May 2021.
