IA2030 Lightning chat: Integration of immunization with other health services with Laura Nic Lochlainn (WHO)
Topic: Integration of immunization with other health services
    Guest: Laura Nic Lochlainn (WHO)
Join Charlotte Mbuh and Reda Sadki from The Geneva Learning Foundation to learn about the world's new vision and strategy for the future of immunization.
Immunization is one of the best health investments money can buy.
Yet despite tremendous progress, far too many people around the world – including nearly 20 million infants each year – have insufficient access to vaccines.
In some countries, progress has stalled or even reversed, and there is a real risk that complacency will undermine past achievements.
To address these challenges over the next decade, a new global vision and strategy titled ‘Immunization Agenda 2030: A Global Strategy to Leave No One Behind (IA2030)’ has been endorsed by the World Health Assembly.

  • Neglected needs of women’s health: A 15-minute Global Health Symposium with Julie Jacobson
We are pleased to welcome Dr Julie Jacobson to our 15-minute Global Health Symposium.
Julie Jacobson is a global health leader and physician with a life-long commitment to addressing complex public health problems with creative problem solving, innovation, and development of collaborative partnerships for delivering global results. Now a founding Partner of Bridges to Development, Julie has contributed to a new global recognition of the out-sized burden of Female Genital Schistosomiasis (FGS) on women in Africa and its overlap or increased risks related to HIV, HPV and STIs.
FGS has been described as the one of the most neglected sexual and reproductive health issues in sub-Saharan Africa with an estimated 56 million women and girls infected.
The suffering of women and girls due to FGS can be reduced and even avoided.
What is the "15-minute Global Health Symposium?" In today's world of knowledge abundance, we believe that the 60-minute presentation webinar is not only boring but also ineffective. Instead, in just 15 minutes, we strive to provide what you need to answer two questions: 1) Is this relevant to my work and my learning and 2) If it is, how can I learn more?
