In 2020, global immunization coverage levels for infants dropped back to 2009 levels.

We lost 11 years of hard work.

Immunization Agenda 2030 is not just another initiative. It is the world’s road map for the entire decade, starting with recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the Seventy-Fourth World Health Assembly, the Director General of the World Health Organization called for “a broad social movement for immunization that will ensure that immunization remains high on global and regional health agendas and help to generate a groundswell of support or social movement for immunization”.

If you work in immunization or primary health care (PHC), we call on you to join fellow health professionals from all over the world to help create this Movement for Immunization Agenda 2030.

By joining forces, sharing our experience, and supporting each other, each of us can be strong to face the challenges and barriers that leave children and adults at the mercy of vaccine-preventable diseases.

This is not about spending time listening to “webinars” or other pursuits that take you away from your work.

When you join the Movement for Immunization Agenda 2030, we will ask you to choose one challenge you face in your work. Then we will ask you to tell us what kind of support your need to tackle this challenge.

The Movement for Immunization Agenda 2030 is a global initiative owned by everyone. The Geneva Learning Foundation’s Full Learning Cycle is our contribution to this Movement.

On 7 March 2022, we will launch the first Full Learning Cycle for IA2030, a series of peer learning exercises and field-based practice. We will use the Ideas Engine – a powerful tool to crowdsource best practice – and develop situational analyses to plan and implement projects in the Impact Accelerator.

For all these activities, you will work – side-by-side with fellow practitioners from all over the world – on your own challenge, the one that can make a difference where you work and for your country.

Immunization Agenda 2030 makes no sense if, in every country, it is not translated into practical interventions. That is why it starts with you, where you work.

On Monday, Care International and the Geneva Learning Foundation (TGLF) launched the fifth English-language cohort of the Gender Scholar programme for Level 1 certification in Rapid Gender Analysis (RGA) open to gender specialists or generalists with an understanding of gender equality, humanitarian assessments and analysis.
