You are invited to a Workshop organized by Members of the COVID-19 Peer Hub, a network of more than 6,000 national and sub-national immunization staff from 90 countries.
Ann Lindstrand heads the Essential Programme on Immunization (EPI) at the World Health Organization.
She will be our guest to listen and learn with national and sub-national immunization staff.
As WHO’s Co-Lead for COVAX, the vaccines pillar of the ACT Accelerator, Ann’s goal is to help end the acute phase of the global pandemic by the end of 2021 by providing access to at least 2 billion doses of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines to the most vulnerable in all participating economies.
There are now several vaccines for COVID-19 in the pipeline. A vaccine may be reaching your country soon.
Immunization staff, especially those in communities, remain the most trusted advisor and influencer of vaccination decisions.
We are the ones that will need to provide trusted, credible information on the safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines.
Together, we will explore questions that include:
Have you been involved in new vaccine introduction in the past? What was the most difficult challenge that you faced?
Are you involved in COVID-19 vaccine introduction and roll-out in your country? Do you expect to be involved soon?
Are you involved in developing your country’s National Vaccine Deployment Plan (or at your system level)? What is your role?
What do you think you [in your context] will find the most challenging in order to introduce COVID-19 vaccine?
What do you expect to face with respect to vaccine hesitancy, demand promotion, and community engagement? How are you preparing to face this?
