I couldn't be more pleased to welcome Vitus Borkalitus to the program''s social media team. Vitus recently made headlines in a national newspaper for his innovative work at a top Google-ranked online eyeglass retailer and I've no doubt his methodology and wealth of experience in customer service is exactly what this show and our partnet companies require going forward. I understand he's had a few run ins with law enforcement on the East Coast, but I am a firm believer that everyone deserves a second chance. Or in Vitus' case, a 6th, 7th or 8th chance.

There were a number of comments on last week's program related to the show's recent acquisition by the Pesky Media Group that might've implied one of PMG's main investors had been heavy-handed in their treatment of critics and/or might take punitive measures against me if stepped out of line. 

I would like to formally apologize for these remarks and assure all listeners that the Pesky Media Group and their wonderful, benevolent investors are both champions of freedom and humanitarianism  (THAT'S A THING, RIGHT?)  I am truly sorry that my attempts at "edgy" humor in any way reflected poorly on their operations, though I understand I've only damaged the trust of those gracious enough to hear the show. 
I do hope we can put this unpleasantness behind us. 

Also, I look forward to the safe return of my dog.

i'm thrilled to announce the acquisition of this radio show on the part of the PESKY MEDIA GROUP. I realize there's a handful of you who take exception to their ties to the last Presidential administration, if not the investments they've received by what some consider to be a a murderous regime with no patience for human rights, but I prefer to look at the big picture. Just think of all the synergistic opportunities this will provide for me and the program? So what if they've told me I can no longer play anything by The Dismemberment Plan, it's not like I was going to anyways.

“Komodo is a 1999 horror thriller film directed by Michael Lantieri. On a holiday with his parents, fifteen-year-old Patrick (Kevin Zegers witnesses them get attacked and killed. The shock prevents Patrick from remembering what happened, and he is assigned to young psychiatrist Victoria Juno (Jill Hennessy for help. Patrick attempts to come to terms with his loss, but when he and his aunt Annie return to the scene, Patrick must face the creature responsible for their demise”

Rights clearance issues have prevented me from featuring any dialogue from “Komodo”, however I would like to point out the part of “Hippie” was played by musician Nique Needles, whose discography includes stints in The Curse, Freak Power, Doghouse and Box Monsters. This week’s show doesn’t feature any of their music either, though not due to rights clearance issues for once . They’re just not very good.

if you're gonna keep propose horrible hybrid pseudo-sports, why not a combination of polo and swimming? Except minus the horses, you can play it in a swimming pool. Look, you can have this idea for free, I'm nothing if not magnanimous. The copyright holders of Slamball, Rugball and rugburn were all unavailable for comment, so this is another mostly-music episode. I'M SURE YOU'LL (JULIAN ) COPE.

This program's "You Break It, You Bought It" policy is not limited to copies of the late Michael Stanley's album of the same name, though handling with care is recommended all the same. There's a reason the sign on the door reads, "lovely to look at, delightful to hold, if you should break it, FUCK YOU, IT'S SOLD". Simply put, most of you are as rude as you are clumsy and I've had enough trying to glue together merchandise damaged by America's dumbest customers. It's going to be a minor inconvenience having to handcuff each individual who wishes to listen to this show, but on the bright side, at least there aren't very many of you.

as some of you might know, during my time in NYC during the 1980's, I maintained the somewhat controversial DEFLECTING-THE-BLAME HOTLINE, in which individuals could anonymously unburden themselves (and explain that whatever horrible transgressions had been hanging over their heads were in fact, entirely the fault of other parties). Some likened it to a conceptual art piece, but as someone who is the epitome of faultless, I felt a special bond with others seeking to set the record straight. Years before heads of state, literary giants and the guy that played the Winklevoss Twins raised gaslighting to an art form, callers to the DEFLECTING-THE-BLAME hotline were early pioneers.  The Red Transistor to the guy that played the Winklevoss Twins' A.R.E. Weapons, if you will. 

This episode attempts to capture the flavor of the era but ultimately fails because I left my box of the answering machine tapes on a fruit truck - they were never recovered. You'll have to settle for music, instead.

Thinking about the late Yaphet Kotto's work as Lieutenant Al Giardello and Smokey James. But thinking about other stuff, too. It's a long show, there's room for more than a couple of thoughts, but perhaps not a double digit number of thoughts.

the key to keeping this show atop the podcast charts every week is that I don't overpromise / under-deliver. While the (ahem) competition offer guarantees of something truly explosive, incendiary, etc., I'm very comfortable the whole "niche" nature of this sort of thing, realizing that many of you are using this program as some sort of mood/vibe enhancement while you're performing all-important tasks on behalf of your paymasters (ie. firing a third of all the staff acquired in a takeover, evicting families during a pandemic, proofreading Trevor Bauer's social media posts, etc.) As always, this episode is neither the greatest broadcast of all time, nor is it the worst experience ever suffered by a thinking person (ie. a Steve Blush podcast). It's somewhere squarely in the middle of the road, sort of like the band Train (who ironically, did not actually travel by rail), without actually featuring the music of Train (see rights clearance department failures , previous episodes)

Living together in close quarters is never especially easy, never mind the added pressures of pandemic-required confinement. Not everyone has the requisite patience or respect for the privacy of others to handle such situations over the long haul and for this week's show we speak with a couple of experts on the subject who've been roommates for years.
