We often despise our human limitations, and yet this frailty is among the greatest gifts of God, for it drives us to seek him. We see as much in the Roman Centurion, a man of authority whose helplessness brought him to the feet of Jesus. In Jesus, we come to know the true extent of God’s love, not only drawing those far and wide to his table, but also gladly suffering to make a place for us.
