In this holiday episode, Dr.Thomas expands upon the ultimate gift - the freedom God wants to grant us. With the world experiencing lots of uncertainty, take the time to enjoy your family this break & not take them granted. Let’s not take the gift of freedom from God for granted either.
6:01 - Why did he give his son? What do you think of when he stated “for God so loved the world?” God has loved us before we were formed and has provided a way out for when trouble arose.
10:50 - Isiah 9:6. Believe that all world problems is on God’s shoulder to solve. He gave his son to fix the world of Satans devices that can keep us bound longer than we desire. He wants to be our Lord and Savior, but we must submit an accept that first. He wants us to be free and not under control of sin, or things we can’t change (generational curses, family issues etc..).
18:06 - Galatians 5:1 states, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” In order to stand firm we must trust in gift of freedom. Sin is pleasurable but the wages of it is death. It’s hard to have faith when yoked in sin.
27:49 - Galatians 5:13 states, You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. After accepting the gift from God, the work does not stop there. We are called to do the work of the kingdom moving forward. Indulging in the flesh opens the door for sin and bondage to enter.
Discussion Questions & Takeaways
1. What areas in your life are you not free?
2. What areas do the devil still access to?
3. Sin alienates you from God.
4. John 8:32 - and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you FREE.
