In his sermon, "The God-Life," Pastor George Legba outlines a vision for believers and their purpose on Earth.
According to Pastor Legba, the ultimate purpose of humanity is to be in the image and likeness of God, which is essential for exercising dominion on Earth. This is a key part of God's larger plan, which he describes as an unfolding vision for a people or a nation. Pastor Legba asserts that a man's life is directed by his most persistent thoughts and that believers are not saved simply to go to heaven, but to "colonize the earth for God." The goal is for the entire earth to be covered with the knowledge of God's glory.
The sermon also distinguishes between a promise and a covenant, explaining that a covenant requires participation from both parties. Salvation is a covenant, which means believers have a part to play. This part is consecration, which is defined as a total surrender to God.
The pastor explains that sin is a legal, not emotional, matter in the spiritual realm. While sin won't prevent you from approaching God, it will stop you from representing Him until it is dealt with. A person becomes holy and a member of the "pure breed" when they receive the "God-Life." This isn't a sinless generation, but rather one in which sin gradually disappears from their lives as the life of God enters their spirit (regeneration) and their soul (transformation).
Pastor Legba encourages listeners to understand the privilege of faith, which is to set the direction of power in their lives. He emphasizes that the battle is over when you are silent, so you must never allow Satan to have the final say. Finally, he advises that if someone has faith in you despite your weaknesses, you should cry out to God for help and change rather than continuing in your old ways.
