STOP COMPARING TO YOUR PAST!

Ever since I was in 2nd grade I had always been a slow reader
Kids would be 3-4 books in and I’m still trying to finish the 1st one
So my school would pull me aside and take me to a “private tutor” so I could catch up a bit more on my reading level
It was always like that
Fast forward then to high-school I was placed in the lowest classes that required extra English work
My SATS lowest scores were always English and I had to take it 3 times
THAT was my reality, because I was placed in lower classes I always just felt stupid, my friends would joke about it, but I always felt like I had a chip on my shoulder because of those guys constantly making jokes
Sophmore year of highschool I decided I’m getting out of these lower classes because I knew was smarter than the rank I was at
It technically didn’t make sense my colleges wouldn’t care my rank they would just care about my grades at the end of
But I KNEW I had more in me, I knew I was smarter than the classes I was taking
So I GRINDED every single day for better grades
Staying late, doing extra credit, never missing homework assignments, I did whatever it took
And I eventually was able to move up to the next rank of classes which was rarely ever done in school history but I was on a mission
Sometimes your weakness can become your strong point
I was never the “smartest”, I could never memorize things like the kids with higher grades
So to compensate I put THE most work out of everyone in my classes to get my grades
And now that’s transferred over to everything i do, I will never naturally have any ability but if you put me in any environment, it may take me longer but eventually I will catch up to you
And be careful might get further past you
Men stop thinking all these things people have, mansions, money, six-packs, was just handed to people
I never made a single excuse getting out of those classes and I really could care less if people had more talent than me
HARD WORK will eventually beat talent if talent stops working ;)
Use that weakness you have as your strength

I DIDN'T GET PICKED....

Can’t believe I didn’t get picked… 

About 2 years ago I applied to become a naval aviator in the military 

Studying for Hours a day 

Paying for tutors for the exam 

Taking flight lessons and paying 1000s of dollars for them 

Passing the written exam, flying solo, 1.5 years of the entire application process and graduating college with over a 3.0 Gpa and PUSHING it my last semester to make things happen 

And the results finally came back from the flight board 

“Professionally Not Recommended” 

That broke me

After all of that work? I get nothing in return? 

Nothing…? 

I was infuriated, confused, angry and just sad that all of this work had been put in and still nothing 

But I wasn’t done with my Aviation Dream, I went ahead and tried to get a pilot slot in the airframe shortly after, shifting gears, still flying consistently I went and tried again 

Missed a passing score by 3 points…3 points… and couldn’t retake it for 6 months 

Failed again…

Then shortly after…

Buisness began to Skyrocket for my fitness coaching 

I began then to lean into that and grow it, I served my clients to the highest level in my program 

Still heart broken but at that point I decided I was going to burn the boats and go all in with my Buisness 

Then that same year my business hit the 6 figure mark and I kept building and building it 

Eventually I moved out of Long Island where I was living and shifted gears to Austin Texas 

Stop taking failures as if they are your stopping points 

I could’ve sat around and mopped for hours and hours about how bad my situation was, But I FOCUSED on what I could control not what I couldn’t so I decided I HAD no other option but to KEEP going ALL in on what was working for me
