Join us for part three and the final clip from my interview with Hannah James, a strong woman of the faith, with beautiful wisdom, insight, and revelations that will help us all find comfort and accountability in walking closely with the Lord.
“The corporate church is a little ill and wounded right now, and we are praying for her to heal.”
Doesn’t the Lord promise that he will come back for a spotless bride? What exactly does this mean? In this final clip, we talk about how both of us in different seasons walked away as we believed that we were written off, “I was already worthless, so what was the point??”
We don’t always hear the toxic nature of beliefs and thoughts like this, that are so counterintuitive to who scriptures tell us that he is and the way that he loves us, so.
“He loves us because he loves us” - Shauna recalls a pastor praying this over her. We can’t do anything to not get it. We can’t earn his love, he already gave it to us. His love for us never changes.
We must learn to invite Jesus into our everyday moments, because he knows our exact heart in each of them, When we do, we have clearer and more consistent opportunities for obedience, not just in the big things but in the seemingly minuscule things.
He is the same, we are different and we change, but he doesn’t so we can continue to trust him in each moment.
We also discuss the power of healing that starts on the individual level, and if we continue to seek the gifting more than we seek him then our identity is found in what we can do for HIM, and not what he wants to do IN US. Our gifting is a responsibility to edify the church.
If you think you have done things that have counted you completely out, “I’m not deserving, I am not worth it.”
In the name of Jesus, our Savior and our Lord, who came in the flesh and resurrected us, we break that off of you NOW.
We proclaim that we are the children of God that creation has been waiting for.

Take a listen to part 2 of my interview with my friend and sister in the faith, Hannah James.
In this week’s episode, we talked about how the Lord promises, “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.” John 4:23
This episode was jam-packed with many different viewpoints and perspectives. We talked about the power of a name, the deep ways that Jesus loves us, the staying power of grace, and how the giftings are not always received by the world.
We asked questions like,
“Jesus, do you love me?”
“When do we enter into resurrected life?”
“How do we put our phone down?”
“What will the fullness of love be like?”
and laughed, talked about the challenges of social media, and continued to give glory, honor, and praise to our king!

Starting from scratch with Hannah James
My friend and sister in the faith, Hannah James, joins us for this week’s episode (part 1 of 3). A beautiful woman of God, full of love, knowledge, and experience of walking with Jesus in various stages of her faith. She shares with us about her early stages and how he helped her start over from scratch. Through continued obedience, Jesus gave her a gift and she shares about the first time she used the gift at the capital here in Wisconsin.
The Lord said to her, “You don’t like your life right now,”
She said, “You are right Lord, I don’t.”
He smiled, “You should give it to me.”
Take a listen to part 1 of three, and stay tuned for more of this incredible story!

"Teen Talks" is a testament to the inspiring faith and courage of the Gen-Z generation. Guided and fueled by the Holy Spirit, these young adults are walking boldly and living out their faith with great conviction. Their hearts, minds, and spirits are moved by the Holy Spirit, empowering them to achieve amazing things without looking to the ways of the world. It's truly inspiring to witness their unwavering faith and steadfast commitment to living a life that glorifies God.
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12
Meet my friend Alyssa who has such a soft and gentle spirit, she challenged us with a few questions during this weeks episode that I believe are very useful for many of us, no matter where we are on our faith walk. She asks, “Is there a difference between your life getting easier and your life getting better?” As I interviewed Alyssa she talks about how walking with Jesus isn’t necessarily easier, but its better because we have tools to cope with the fact that it is not easier. “The journey is not better than the destination.”
Alyssa shares one of her favorite verses from John 15:18, “if the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you.”
“The worlds hatred,” she says, “is about knowing that you do not live for the world, you live for God. You are just passing through to get to something eternal.”
This is not just a podcast for teens, it’s for adults who are wanting to better understand the hearts, minds, and challenges of today’s youth. I pray this episode move you.

Oh, How He Loves Us So.
A few days ago, the Lord told me while we journaled together that my “peace and joy are of the utmost importance to him.” He wanted me to experience these gifts and the fruits of his spirit.
I felt so loved in that moment. It was important to him that I was able to experience both peace and joy in my life.
On this week’s episode, we take a look at a few verses from the message translation in Isaiah 44 and 45. There was a line that stopped me in my tracks.
“Come back to me, come back. I’ve redeemed you.”
Would we turn back from our ways? Would we learn to seek him? Would we be brave enough to stop going at it in our own way??
I see the Lord simply calling his children home to him. He doesn’t need us but he wants us.
His love for us is so deep, pure, life-changing and transformational.
It is already yours, would you grab hold of it and seek him fully?

The Lord is inviting us all into a deeper and more meaningful relationship with him. Over the last few weeks, I have been asked to put things aside while I seek him in the secret place.
This time together with him is sacred, as he shares his heart and heals deep seated wounds that were still gushing (unbeknown to me). The secret place is a place of complete surrender in the quiet of your heart, learning to hear his voice with clarity and distinction and putting down the things that keep getting in the way of that relationship.
He is inviting you into something deeper, richer, and more fulfilling than this world will ever be, but it comes with a cost. Jesus warns us about being lukewarm for his kingdom.
I don’t want you to be lukewarm or cold, I want you to know the deep riches of the love of our Father who waits for us patiently with long-suffering.
Are you willing to pay the cost to step into full redemption on the other side?
If we do not devote ourselves to him then everything else is “meaningless, meaningless, meaningless” (Ecclesiastes 1), we must learn to seek him above ALL else.
I hear many people ask questions like, “What is my purpose? What should I do? Where do I go?”
You have a divine calling within you to love the Lord your God with ALL of your heart, all of your might, and all of your strength.
Our purpose is to worship him and to seek him, to give him the glory in all that we do. I pray that this episode invite you into something that changes your heart for the Lord in a deeply transformative way. I know it will not come without difficulty and pain, but his tender love will heal even the deepest of wounds and it is worth it, HE is worth it.

In Christ, we are overcomers.
But with Jesus, we can find gratitude for even these small moments that do not define us, but refine us for his kingdom purposes. I cannot help but laugh at this moment in time.
I have always been my own worst enemy, listening to the lies that have kept me debilitated by feelings of lack and self-deprication. It has been a long journey of learning that my thoughts do not always align with how God sees me. Someone said to once to me like this, “you might be wrong about you.”
I have to look really hard sometimes to see the truth behind the lies of condemnation that i’ve believed about myself. Lies that believe I am not good enough, or that my body is broken, or that I don’t belong.
Condemnation is not our sentence.
I can choose for the chains to hold me back, which I have done before, OR I can choose Him.
I can choose Him, fully.
I can move past the lie with the truth, that he loves me because he loves me because he loves me and that my circumstance do not define me, but only HE can.

Learning to trust that we are his, a hard lesson that I had to learn as an adult in my faith journey. Our God has been so gracious to me as I’ve navigated paths in my own life, seeking to find meaning and purpose, without Him.
As a young person, there was a part of myself that would flourish during a week a way at camp. I would watch how my faith would be strengthened ten fold, until moments of being home and coming back to the “real world.”
“Jesus freak,” they’d say.
There was a part of myself that loved the Lord but I often left her at camp. I was neglecting that part of who I was, and it has impacted my heart for years since then.
Working with young people is so heavy on my heart because I can speak to a moment in my own life that could have shifted drastically If I would have been reminded that…
-I would never fit into the world.
-Seeking after worldly things WOULD happen.
-Following Jesus was a choice.
-That the part of myself that loved Jesus was who I was, deep down.
But, he is the God that writes perfect stories, and redemption is in his blood. We are made new in him, and with him. The part of myself that loves Jesus is the part of myself I get to live out now. Having waited many painful years, it was worth it to learn a hard but beautiful truth.
It was my identity as his child I was seeking, and it was the identity of his child that was found.

A practice of quieting our mind and resting in the spirit is something that can take time, I felt strongely that the body of Christ was needing encouragement and some quiet time of reflection and connecting with the spirit. (I needed this, too)!
The nervous system needs time to turn off, reset, and get restablished. We can use prayer as a means to connect deeply with the Holy Spirit in the secret place, to find refreshing for our soul, and allow our bodies (our temple) to enter into deep and healing rest.
I want to invite you into that today. Are you feeling worn out, tired, weary, or in need of deep spiritual refreshing?
Then find 20 minutes in the next few days to find a quiet spot, free from distractions, and allow yourself to sit and rest. Invite your spouse, family member, or a friend to join you and when you are done use these few reflection questions if you’d like to discuss:
I pray this is a deep moment of refreshment for your soul, Jesus, we thank you for these moments to remember that are only called, “to be still and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)

A warning from Jesus in Matthew 26:41, “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Even though our hearts and our spirits are willing to do this work, our flesh is weak and is in direct opposition to the spirit. We are constantly being tempted to be pulled back into the sinful nature and settle into the ways of this world.
Our spiritual disciples are so important, and we must get comfortable with taking conscious inventory of our spiritual health, seeking to continue to grow in deeper and more intimate relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ and our Father in Heaven.
Perhaps you are taking time to skim over the pages and check off that you read your Bible, but are you taking what you are reading and truly applying it to your life?
Are the words sinking in?
Do you actually understand what it is saying?
Are you truly loving your neighbors as yourself?
Do you know what it means to be loved?
Do you love God in that same way?
We must learn to mature in our faith and seek the deeper truths, as we do, we continue to grow and step further into the purposes that our Father has for us.
Paul tells the church of Ephesus in Ephesians 4:14 , “Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”
It is through him that his eternal kingdom will emerge, as we seek to speak the truth in love and mature into who Christ intends for us to be for the equipping of the saints, and the maturing of the body.
Church, are you ready?
