Meet one of my favorite people, Kayley Baxter, a strong Christian woman with the spiritual gifts of knowledge and the prophetic. As we jump into a conversation, she shares her experience with learning to feed her spirit in the same way that she had to feed her body. As Kayley drew nearer to the Lord, he brought great healing to her heart and revealed many hidden truths that were blocking her relationship with Jesus. As she addressed these hard truths, the Holy Spirit brought opportunities for growth and gifts that she didn’t expect.

“There is nothing for me without your presence,” Kayley tells us about her relationship with the Father. She talks about being “spiritually dead” and “coming to the end of herself” and the signs that she was seeing in her life to push her into deeper trust. Perhaps these moments in Kayley’s healing journey can be a light for you on your walk.

Learning to walk with God is not just about asking for what we want, but it is also about learning how to listen. For most of us, listening involves more than just preparing to talk again. We often have that little voice in our head that is already preparing for what we will say next. However, active listening requires us to stop that voice and be present in the current moment. This is a powerful practice that can be very helpful as we build our faith walk. Learning to ask questions and waiting for the answer is a spiritual discipline. It may not come immediately, but with time, dedication, and an earnest heart, we can trust that the Lord will reveal himself to us because "he rewards those who seek him earnestly."

I want to challenge you with a question. As you ask it, prepare your heart for the answer. Most of the time, when I ask these questions, I am amazed and humbled by God's response. He always knows exactly what I need to hear when I need to hear it.

Let this message be an encouragement to you to strengthen your relationship with God and get comfortable with listening to his responses. When we spend more time in scripture, we learn to know who God is and his character traits. If the voice you hear does not sound like it is from love, practice discernment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to you.

What was once a pit of deep darkness, became a refreshing overflowing well of the goodness of God. It took time and nurturing, but what was revealed was his power, glory, and the ability to heal even the deepest of wounds.

I struggled with understanding that my identity did not need to be defined by this world, but that being a “child of God” became a foundational footing that could hold me up in the darkest of moments. The question of “Who am I?” led me to believe that I needed to box myself in and become something to share with the world, it brought me a lot of heartache, pain, and wondering that ended up taking me away from God.

But his goodness brings us back. He is always pursing us, whether we know it or not. This well of his goodness continues to surprise me and help me navigate the challenges of this fallen world, but a strong place to land has become the building blocks to our relationship that changed everything.

I pray that this episode helps you to solidify your God-given identity as a child of God, as you experience the deep well of God that is ready for you to witness, see, and feel.

The lies we listen to can be so detrimental to our faith walk. But what happens when we focus too much on ourselves and not enough on Him? In this week's episode, we shed light on a line from the book of John in the scriptures, where we learn that "He must increase, and I must decrease."

I witnessed this concept happen in real-time this week and know that the Lord had a message for all of us. When we concentrate too much on ourselves, our past, our stories, our emotions, and the "things that happened to us," we quickly spiral into an emotional pit that becomes hard to get out of.

The Bible teaches us instead to focus on Him. Let's take a look at this together and pray that the Lord helps you see where you are putting yourself ahead of Him and His will for your life.

When people see me, I pray that they willfirst see Christ in me. I hate to admit it but I know that this isn’t always what people see first. Sometimes I can be “too much” for the world, or I am way in my head, or I can be too harsh with someone. I’ve been a terrible witness and even worse disciple at times. Thank GOD for the gift of grace. 

As new Christians, we areso eager to share the gospel that we can forget that it’s not about witnessing to others their salvation, but rather who Jesus is to us and what we pulled us FROM.

I see many people who get caught in the religious dogma of what someoneMUST BELIEVE to be saved, that we forget to talk with them about the most important part…. the love story that is knowing who Christ Jesus is and what He saved us from, the depths of our sinful nature.

When we are “in the 99” we can easily forget that we were once “the one” - what did you need when you were on the outside? How did people in religious circles turn you off? Are you willing to ask if you are doing the same thing in your desire towitness?

When we get this wrong, the person who once had one brick in front of their heart may leave with an entire brick wall that is nearly impenetrable… we’ve made it harder to reach them because we focused on the wrong thing. 

In this episode, we talk about how we can blow our witness. This wasn’t an easy conversation. I pray the Lord uses this to bring light to your heart and a remembrance of the gift of grace.

We often can’t even hear the lies that we believe, let alone speak over ourselves and our lives. 

In this week’s episode, we dive into the practical lessons behind“taking every thought captive and making it obedient to Christ.” 

2 Corinthians 10:5 “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 

Our thoughts, emotions, trauma, and the like can be very subtle, even as Christians, we have unhealed trauma and beliefs that keep us in continual looping patterns and unintentionally believing the lies of the enemy, instead of speaking to the truth of who GOD tells us that we are.

The sinful nature is the natural rhythm that we live in, we have to break the pattern, and drawing awareness to the stories we carry is crucial to this work. It is moment to moment, thought to thought, and Jesus helps us deeply by nurturing these wounds. Understanding the truth of scripture and learning to apply it practically to our lives is part of maturing as Paul speaks to us about.

What is revival without reform?

I have been pondering on the statement "What is revival without reform?" for some time now. It keeps popping in my mind, and I believe God is trying to teach me something through it. I recently stumbled upon an old note, and the words resonated with me deeply. 

We often do things, believe things, or want things in the name of holiness, assuming they are right, but when we examine them more closely and listen to God's heart, we may realize that we're still acting out of our human nature.

As a church, we need to be ready for when revival and spiritual awakening come to our nation. To prepare ourselves, we need to ask some critical questions. What does reform in the church look like? Which areas of the church need reform? How will we handle an influx of people? How will we welcome and include new people, especially those who are new in their faith? How can we encourage the older generation to embrace people who may look or act differently from what they expect? How can the younger generation be open to learning from the older generation's experiences? 

Multi-generationally, we have much to mend, and we need to be careful not to be so eager for the move of God that we disregard His voice when it sounds different from what we expect.

I pray this episode spark something within you that brings awareness to how God is desiring to move in this time.

This is a personal experience about how a good samaritan helped me to strengthen my faith and gain a deeper understanding of God's plan for us. During a recent trip, I faced unexpected challenges that reminded me of God's goodness and holiness. I learned that we can glorify Him in everything we do, even when things don't go as planned.

In this week's podcast episode, I encourage you to remember that there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus. Even if we have negative thoughts about ourselves, we need to take them captive and make them obedient to Christ. Let's strive to walk with Him in every moment of our lives.
