The Tulsa men are in the NIT Final Four and are closing in on their first NIT Championship since 2001. Standing in their way are the New Mexico Lobos in the semifinals on Thursday at 6:00 PM central at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The winner gets Auburn or Illinois State in the championship game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse (also in Indy).
In this one, I preview New Mexico before airing our guest appearance on The Pit Press Podcast where we previewed Tulsa for New Mexico fans.
Hope you enjoy it! Can't wait for Thursday night.
Tulsa fell to Wichita State 68-81 in the American Championship semifinals after losing David Green to injury and Tyler Behrend to fouling out while Kenyon Giles went supernova for the Shockers.
HOWEVER, Tulsa received a 1-seed in the NIT the very next day and will host Stephen F. Austin in the Reynolds Center in the first round on TUESDAY! That's today, at time of publishing. It's the Tulsa men's first postseason bid of any kind since 2016. Can't wait.
Matt's out, so it's just me for this one. I recap the conference tournament for the men & women, preview the NIT for the men, and briefly discuss the unfortunate end of the season for the women.
I also have a new article out on Patreon about savoring this extremely fun season while acknowledging questions about the defense & the coach. Both basketball teams are entering the final week of the regular season. The men are hoping for a WSU stumble to slide back into the two seed, while the women are trying to get an extra bye at the four seed. Even with everyone looking ahead to the conference tournament, the last games are still important for seeding.
We also talk Legend’s Day, quiz Ryan on some mascot trivia, talk early thoughts on football schedule, do our spring sport recap, and more.

The Tulsa men have won 6 straight games by an average of 14 points and are playing their best ball of the season, but the most important week of the regular season looms large. A Florida road trip against two of the best teams in the league: FAU (a Tier B opportunity on KenPom) and USF (Tier A).
We recap Tulsa's big home wins over North Texas and Wichita State before previewing the huge week in front of us.
After that, we talk women's hoops, ask what happened to the Havoc in the Heartland, and recap all of the other active sports happening at TU right now.

Matt is back from vacation so it is time to talk some hoops! The men have played a dominant four-game stretch with wins over Charlotte, UAB, Memphis and Rice, showing there was no need to start panicking after dropping two in a row to UNT and USF. We talk most about the Memphis and Rice wins, Memphis tears, and the big stretch the team has coming up (UNT, WSU x2 and USF).
The women are back to trading off wins and losses, dropping a game against Rice at home before grinding out a tough win on the road against UNT. Fortunately they have a chance to get two home wins when they host FAU and Memphis this week.
We also talk some portal updates, tennis and women’s golf.
