Holly G and Rich B are in the studio for another hour of intelligent golf talk. Rich talks about Barry Cheesman winning the North Florida PGA Senior Section Championship recently.

Holly talks with Rich about Justin Rose winning the Zurich Classic and the media day for U.S. Open. Rich points out that the PGA will be possibly setting up some of the pins and tees on

slopes. Lydia Ko wins Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic.

Former PGA Tour player Calvin Peete passed away at 71. Rich said Calvin started late as a golfer and was really successful.

Jeff Shain, PGATour.com, calls in to discuss the round robin

format at WGC Cadillac Match Play event. Jeff says that the "Group of Death", much like the World Cup, for the WGC Match Play seems to be Ian Poulter, Webb Simpson, Jimmy Walker and Gary Woodland.

Jeff stresses that if you are putting well in match play you can put

pressure on opponent nearly every hole and ramp up the pressure.

Players play 18 holes Wednesday, 18 holes Thursday and 18 holes Friday. To set up the sudden death rounds on Sat and Sunday..

If you make it to Sunday you'd have to play 7 rounds and

    then go to Players Championship.

Jeff says that WGC next year will be in Austin Texas next

year be right after Florida swing. Holly and Jeff discuss the play of Masters champ Jordan Spieth who won his first match Wednesday at Harding Park. "Pretty amazing to tie for 11th place in the tournament following the Masters and the whirlwind media
junket that followed.  Jeff also likes Jason Day even though he lost first match. If things
pan out there could be a Spieth/Day quarterfinal match.

Todd Lewis, Golf Channel, calls in from Harding Park in

San Francisco to talk with Holly about Spieth's 7 birdies through 16 holes in his first match. Todd feels that if Jordan would win this event could play 90+ holes of golf.
More significant to win this one versus the one and done format in the past. Be viewed more as a
complete player to win both stroke play and match play events.

Todd and Holly also talk about the fact that The Players golf course magnifies mistakes like no other

on the PGA Tour schedule this year.

Garry Smitts, Florida Times Union, calls in to talk about The Players Championship. Holly asks about Phil Mickelson pulling out of the tourney for personal reasons.

She asks Garry who he thinks along with Spieth will play well at The Players, that really want to win it? The 1-44

positions are really good players and it could be any one of them. Garry points out that McIlroy wants to prove he can win The Players just like
    Tiger did.

Garry revisits losing a really great player in Calvin Peete. During a 5 yr

period he was awesome. A great player real gentleman and great dresser. Wasn't a long bomber. Holly pointed out that Peete overcame elbow injury. Couldn't straighten left arm, which is key point golf instructors stress, but he still won 12 times.

Holly G and special guest co-host Jeff Shain from PGA Tour.com, are in the studio back on their regular Wednesday night talking about Jim Furyk's win at the RBC Heritage. Jeff said that it was the 10th time when Furyk had the lead in final round, but this time he was actually able to convert it into his 17th victory on the Tour. He beat Kevin Kisner in a playoff.

Ken Davis, volunteer tournament co-chairman, calls in to talk to Holly and Jeff about a charity tournament coming up May 3 at Alaqua Country Club. The Orlando Senior Help Desk. The Senior Help Desk helps enrich senior's lives and assistance family members who are faced with aging family members.

Orlando’s Senior Help Desk is a free service providing

information to help navigate the senior maze. Whether it is a question
concerning housing, health care, social concerns or anything regarding seniors
in the Orlando / Central Florida area.

Holly asks Jeff about his new endeavors working with the Prime Sports Network. Jeff has a weekly golf podcast at 8 pm Wednesday's.

Furyk's win at the RBC Heritage in Harbor town marked his 17th win on Tour, that includes a major championship and a close call on a second major. Jeff revisited Furyk's unfortunate errant shot on 16 that cost him a possible second major championship years ago. He lost to Jason Dufner at the PGA Championship in 2013. and has finished second twice at the U.S. Open.

Jeff pointed out that Furyk's game is well-suited for Harbor Town and that is why he played so well, but he's

at a disadvantage in wide open courses like this week's course at a tournament.

Holly asks Jeff about the play of Jordan Spieth over the past 7 months. Jeff stated that he feels Spieth is the best golfer in the world over the past seven months, especially with everything that Spieth has accomplished. He won 3 tournaments on 3 continent.

Damon Hack, The Golf Channel, calls in to talk to Holly and Jeff about the Furyk and Friends Golf Tournament charity event in Jacksonville, Fla., that Damon and Furyk took part in on Monday in Ponte Vedre the day following the RBC Heritage.

Holly asks Damon his take on Jordan Spieth's success at such a young age. Damon says that Spieth he tries to learn from others like Tom Watson, Ben Crenshaw, Brandel Chamblee. "He isn't out there playing like he knows everything about the game, instead he is all about improving his game.

With Spieth's success, Holly, Jeff and Damon discuss the future of pro golf and talk about this new generation of pro golfers and how some of them aren't fazed by the big moments. "If you think about it, Jordan has only played 8 professional rounds at Augusta and he finished second last year and won this year.

Terrie Purdum, Southern Golf Central Magazine, wraps up the hour speaking with Holly and Jeff about the 16 years she has been in business publishing Florida Golf Central, (now Southern Golf Central). Terrie is asking listeners and readers to send in photos of fathers playing with their sons for the upcoming Father's Day issue. Over the years Terrie and her staff have covered more charity events in the area than any other publication. Now they have expanded to become Southern Golf Central and online their e magazine has a circulation of more than 180,000.

Holly G and Rich B are in the studio on Monday evening for a SPECIAL Masters wrap up show, sponsored by SuperStroke, talking about Jordan Spieth amazing win at Augusta. Spieth plays SuperStroke's Flatso 1.0 and has since 2013.

Spieth went wire-to-wire with a record shattering performance at Augusta to win his first Major Championship at the age of 21 years old. In the process several former major champions were hot on his heels. Rich talks about the Masters.org live stream which was outstanding. Rich was watching Amen Corner.

Shout out to The Golf Channel for their amazing coverage including Todd Lewis' interview with Spieth after the win.

Holly reads what Jack Nicklaus said about Spieth.  Rich points out that Spieth got on the tour with a sponsor's exemption in 2013 and won the John Deere Classic and earned his way on tour and is now the second ranked player in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Brian Hewitt, former editor of the Global Golf Post, calls in to talk to Holly and Rich about the Masters. "One thing we tend to do is canonize whoever won on Sunday, a short memory thing. What we saw yesterday was special and it was an arrival

You have two guys, one 25 and one 21 poised to take the game forward.  Brian says that the game of golf hasn't had anything like this for a turning point since Tiger won in 1997. He says it is so refreshing how both Rory McIlroy and Spieth are candid with everyone.

Brian shared that when Spieth was asked how is he able to stay humble ... "For me to sit here and talk about how I am able to stay humble would not be humble," Spieth said.

Rich feels that the hardest thing for Spieth will be on the first tee next year when he tees it up and thinks about trying to match his 18-under-par.

Two guys finished at 14 under and Rory at 12 under and those numbers would might have won about 90% of Masters in the past. Holly talked about how Spieth has learned from his second place finish at Augusta last year and how he has become a student of the game and prepared himself to win.

The trio talk about how throughout the tournament Spieth made the putts he needed to make time and time again.

Who does Jordan Spieth remind you of... not one golfer but a hybrid of a couple.

Holly and Rich B talk about SuperStroke grips and the history of them and how easy it is to get one for your putters.

Jeff Shain, PGATour.com, calls in from the road to talk to Holly and Rich about the Masters and Sunday's amazing display by Spieth. He never let anyone breathe down his neck. Every time someone got to within 3 strokes, Spieth put the hammer down. Jeff feels that he and Rory could be a formidable rivalry for years and years to come.

Holly asks Jeff what it will take Spieth to get to #1 in the OWGR. If Spieth continues to play like he plays well in the next few tournaments, it might not take him long.

Holly asks Jeff who his pick is for the upcoming RBC Heritage. Jeff feels that Luke Donald has five top 3 finishes in the past six tournaments, so this could be the week to win it. Click here for Jeff Shain's first look at the RBC.

Jeff Babineau, Golfweek, calls in to wrap up the hour of intelligent golf talk. Babineau says that Spieth is so polished at 21 that you forget that he is that young.  "I love his heart, and love the way he scores. He's a great champion," Babineau said.

Holly discusses with Jeff Babineau about the fact that Spieth didn't let his foot off the gas. Jeff says that his choice to do that paid off. Others in the past have let the foot off the gas and it has come back to bite them.

Rich feels that Rory might find this first major to be his Achilles heel since its the first major of the year. Babineau wrote an article about just that for Golfweek's back page.

Holly and Babineau talk about all the other golfers who have played several times in the past and are still trying to figure out the puzzle that is Augusta.

Garry Smits, Florida Times-Union talks to Holly about

Tiger being loose. Way more than ever at a major championship. Holly and Garry discuss the fact that other marquee
players are benefiting from Tiger Woods playing in the Masters as the focus shifts more to Tiger allowing players like Rory McIlroy and Bubba Watson, Jordan Spieth to fly need
    the radar.

Tiger has been working his butt off but has not been ready prior to

    this time.

Garry points out that in the past Tiger has always beenable to put himself against the world, or the course

and build that up In his mind for motivation and take his game to a different level.

The trio talk about the fact that Tiger is now a father and Garry says that fatherhood helped Jack Nicklaus, so maybe there's

a little bit of a higher calling now for Tiger ... being a father.  Tiger may be more relaxed now.

Holly and Garry discuss Jordan Spieth. Garry states that Spieth's stats may not be earth shattering but he

gets it in the hole. He is able to recover from errant shots and gives himself opportunities. He also putts well from 6-20 foot away and is able to save par.

Kip Ingle, The Golf Auction.com, calls in from Augusta to talk to Holly

about the massive global online auction. There will be more than 900 items to bid on. One of the featured items for bid is Jack Fleck's
1955 Ben Hogan 2-9 irons he used to upset Hogan. Fleck was the young professional who came from behind to
beat Hogan in 1955. Considered one of the biggest upsets in golf, Fleck was a
virtually unknown touring pro from Iowa. He prevented Hogan from winning a
record 5th U.S. Open title forcing an 18-hole playoff at the 1955 Open, and did
so using a custom made set of Ben Hogan irons. Hogan’s company began making
clubs in 1953. They were the only two in the field playing with Ben Hogan
    clubs.

Ingle states that there will be a wide range of items including autographed golf balls, bags, flags, etc. Masters memorabilia.

reported that Kevin Streelman won the Par 3 contest. His caddie was a Make A Wish
    recipient with inoperable cancer.

Holly asks Todd about Tiger. He says that this is definitely a different Tiger. Todd feels that Tiger is lowering

the expectations of the fan. He is maturing and other reasons Tiger has
changed. He points out that people want to see what's going on with Tiger's game both
    good and bad.

Todd told the story of how Ben Crenshaw pulled into the Champions parking lot and Tiger Woods was there. Tiger spoke with Ben and asked

him who he was playing with in his final Masters practice round. Ben said Jordan Spieth, a fellow Texan. Tiger asked Ben if he could play the practice round with them and Mr Crenshaw said yes.

Todd's Masters picks: He likes JB Holmes and Keegan as sleepers. Dustin

Johnson, Bubba Watson Jimmy Walker are Todd's favorites to win Masters.

Steve Eubanks, Global Golf Post, calls in and talks with Holly about ANA

Holly G and Rich B are in the studio talking

about Matt Every's win at Arnold Palmer Invitational. Every held on to beat beat Henrik Stenson
who was rattled over being put on clock for slow play. Rich B says Stenson and
his group were one hole behind and that is unacceptable in tournament play.

The Daytona Beach native won his first Tour event at the Arnold Palmer last year. He successfully defended his title this year at the API for his second tour win.

Holly was at the press center and recorded some audio of Every's interview. She said that Every was refreshingly candid.

Every spoke about the guy who was in the gallery at 18 and fake coughed "straight putt, straight putt." Every said he was thinking that this guy would have to be a real D&%$ to say something like that and it not be straight. Every sized up the putt and sunk it. He also talks about this win compared to the pressure after winning his first Tour event.

    Bob

Harig ESPN.com, talks to Holly and Rich about the Arnold Palmer Invitational and Stenson's slow play. Bob wrote an article for ESPN.com that covered PGA putting Stenson and his partner on the clock a few times during the event that seemed to rattle Stenson on the 3rd time he was put on the clock. Bob wrote another article stating that Strokes not Fines is the way to end slow play.

Tim Rosaforte, The Golf Channel, called in and talked with Holly and Rich about several topics around the golf world including the evolution

of the The Golf Channel and what it takes a network to cover an event like the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Tim spoke with Holly and Rich about Tiger's chances of playing in the Masters. He said that it remains to be seen what will happen with Tiger.

Ann Ligouri, Sports Radio and TV broadcaster, talks with Holly and Rich about her shows from the Sports Interview that she did for 17 years. Some of those old interviews are now

available on Hulu and Amazon. Ann said that the show ran from 1989-2006. During that time she was able to complete more than 600 interviews and 59 are
available already online. Interviews from Ted Williams, Billy Jean King, Mickey Mantle, Annika Sorenstam to Brett Favre. She is hoping that they will be converting her interview with Sam Snead and have it available online soon.

Holly asks Ann how long she has been covering the Masters. "Since 1998." Ann has had the privilege twice to play the Monday after masters twice. Media members put their names in a lottery and are randomly chosen to play on the same set up at Augusta that is used for Sunday's final round including the pin placements. Lottery pin positions

    same as Sunday.

Holly G and Rich B are back in the studio on the eve of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, picking up after a winter break. Holly and Rich open season 7 talking about Jordan Spieth's win at Valspar Championship at Innisbrook. Ironically, when The Golf Insiders signed off for the year, Spieth had just won the Hero World Challenge at Isleworth.

Holly talks about how Spieth was phenomenal in the Snake Pit for the final three holes. He won on the third hole of a three-man playoff defeating Patrick Reed and Sean O'Hair. It was Spieth's 4th professional win and his second on the PGA Tour.

Holly was at the press conference at Bay Hill and has some thoughts from Matt Every on his win at the Arnold Palmer last year and what followed.

Bob Harig, ESPN.com, calls in from Bay Hill to talk with Holly and Rich. Bob wrote a story about parody and the first time winners this season. There have been 17 tourneys over 16 weeks and there has NOT been a repeat winner this wrap-around season.

Bob talks to Holly about how great Jordan Spieth is already and his play at the Valspar ... and he is only 21. If he stayed at Texas, he'd be just graduating this year, instead he's already won $10 million. Bob says that Spieth's second win answers a lot of questions and doubts that some naysayers had.

Holly talks to Bob about Sam Saunders, Arnold Palmer's grandson. Bob feels that how close that Saunders came in Puerto Rico helps Saunders cause in retaining his Tour card.

Just three weeks away from the Masters, Rory McIlroy is making his first appearance at Bay Hill. Holly shares some audio from Rory's press conference at Bay Hill.

Jeff Babineau, Golfweek, calls in from Bay Hill, talking about getting back out on the tour covering. Jeff talks about some of the pros tuning up prior to the Masters. Holly talks to Jeff about Gator alum Billy Horschel and how he has been since closing out the season last year.

Rich asks Jeff about Ian Poulter's play of late and what may be the issue. Poulter put 5 balls in the water at the Honda. Jeff feels that Poulter needs to channel the Ryder Cup Poultz and bring it to the tour.

Holly asks Jeff about Ryan Moore's troubles. Babineau says that a lot of the guys have not been able to close the deal on Sundays like we were used to seeing Tiger do in the past. "It's really hard to win on the Tour or to win anywhere out here."

Holly has audio from Arnold Palmer being asked why Bay Hill and why Orlando? Palmer said that they were there before Disney.

Todd Lewis, Golf Channel, calls in from Bay Hill and talks about the conditions of the course. Todd breaks the news that Bubba Watson had just pulled out of the Arnold Palmer Invitational due to the death of a childhood friend.

Todd talks to Holly and Rich about Rory and Tiger and where they are with their games at this point. Todd believes that no one is rooting for Tiger's return at Augusta more than Rory ... because that will take a lot of the focus off of Rory and maybe make it a little easier for him to focus on the possibility of a grand slam. Todd talks about some of the back history of Patrick Reed. "You do a lot of things when you are 17-21 years old in college. Judge the man you see now and not the boy from his past."

Holly asks who, if any of the winners on the season so far, will be the one who'd be most likely to win at the Arnold Palmer. Todd says Jason Day. "He's been playing really well and has the game for this course."

Holly mentions the Arnie series that the Golf Channel put together that was a huge hit when it first aired. The show re-aired last night and then was followed by the fourth installment in the series, Arnie & Me.  Holly G was featured in the series telling her lifelong story about The King!

Holly G and Rich B are back in the studio talking about Jordan Spieth's back-to-back wins at the Australian Open and then this past weekend's win at the Hero World Challenge at Isleworth.

Holly got a chance to interview Spieth after his win at Isleworth and shares it with the listeners.

Bob Harig, ESPN.com, calls in to talk to Holly and Rich about Spieth's win.

"It's incredible when you think that he was in Japan a couple of weeks ago and then went to Australia and won, then flew 16 hours to Orlando for Tiger's event," Harig commented.

Bob pointed out that it was a nice three weeks for Spieth and the three pro wins now will boost his confidence going into 2015.

Holly and Bob talk about Keegan Bradley's success with switching to the standard putter after using the belly putter for such a long time.

"Why not change when you haven't been putting well with the belly putter and you know that you are going to have to switch to the standard putter in 2016 when the anchoring ban goes into effect," Harig said about Bradley.

Rich asks Bob about some of the players like Keegan making equipment changes and ball changes as well.

"Tiger had new Nike irons in play and didn't play very well. We knew he was ill but actually Saturday was his best round and he had a fever of 102 F.

The transition in Tiger's game from the greatest short game of all time about five years ago to now is a little crazy," Harig said. "Why would you change it when you were the best."

Holly asks Bob about the Ryder Cup task force's first meeting and what he knew about it. Bob said he feels that the task force is going to keep everything close to the vest and then announce something when they have sorted it all out.  Like Tiger suggested in his press conference .... we should only have to do this once.

Terrie Purdum, Publisher Florida Golf Central Magazine, calls in to talk to Rich B and Holly about Rich's success in the North Florida PGA as well as being the Bachelor of the Month in the magazine.  The three talk about the PGA SuperStore opening locally in the Orlando area on Turkey Lake Rd.

Jeff Shain, PGATour.com calls in to talk about the Hero World Challenge among other things as the season wrapped up. They talk about the baboon playing through with Luke Donald in South Africa.

Holly G and Rich B are back in the studio after the holiday break.

Jordan Spieth wins at the Australian Open by six strokes.

Rich B competed in the North Florida PGA North Central Bonus Event Country Club of Orlando a field of 26. Rich B tied for 5th place.

Bob Harig, ESPN.com, calls in to talk about the Hero World Challenge and Tiger's return to golf. Bob and Holly and talk about the new look of Tiger.

He has a new teacher, Chris Como, that has a viewpoint that you should play golf but avoid injury. His swing looks different and he has a different posture when he swings.

Bob said that Tiger looked pretty comfortable at the Pro-Am today and only missed a couple of greens all day. Rich points out that this is a home event for Tiger and he really knows the course after living at Isleworth for about 15 years. Bob said that it is really no advantage if you are familiar with the course if you are not playing well.

Holly asks Bob about Tiger's new swing consultant Como. Bob says that the difference between Como and Foley that Como is not as into the Trackman numbers as much as Foley was. Some were of the thought that Tiger was too much into the Trackman numbers so it might be good since he knows about all of that, to tuck it away and move on.

Both Como and Foley are big on Bio-mechanics and Bob Harig stressed that bio-mechanics equals injury avoidance, which everyone especially Tiger can benefit from.

He couldn't do any more of what Foley was advocating, he felt that it wasn't working for him any longer. It was a very amicable split. Tiger felt he needed to make a change.

Bob pointed out that with Tiger's back injury made it probably very hard for Tiger to work on his short game during that time and develop a bad habit.
