    Holly G is in the studio with Rich Bianco talking about all things golf. Holly G and Rich B will be participating in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge next Wednesday at Sam Snead's Tavern parking lot in Maitland off of the 414 to help continue to raise awareness for Lou Gehrig's disease ALS. 
    Bob Harig, ESPN.com, calls in to talk about the FedExCup at the Deutsche Bank. A total of 6 guys will miss this leg of the FedExCup playoffs. Jason Dufner due to injury, Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia as well as Graeme McDowell will not play. Bob and Holly talk about the grueling schedule at the end of the season this year especially with the Ryder Cup this year.
    Dufner said that he will just need time to rest his injury to let it heal. Bulging disc in his neck. Dufner does not want to play until he is competitive.
    Tiger and Sean Foley part ways after four years. Tiger was #1 again during that time but he didn't win a major championship during Foley's tenure. Bob mentions that we don't really know what goes on behind the scenes if Tiger was listening to Sean, was it helping. Bob talks about the fact that Tiger wasn't a healthy player for the past year.
    Holly talks to Bob about Johnny Miller's comments on Tiger. Johnny says Tiger is not Ponce de Leon and shouldn't continue searching for the fountain of youth. Bob says that Tiger shouldn't be explosive but needs to focus on strength and flexibility. 
    Todd Lewis, The Golf Channel, calls in from the Deutsche Bank to talk about the second leg of the FedExCup playoffs. Todd said this is a big week and the field will be trimmed to 70. Todd also says it is the last week for players from both countries to impress the Ryder Cup coaches. Todd an Holly talk about the schedule at the end of the year. 
    Todd feels that It's the mental fatigue and trying to stay sharp and stay at the highest level that the players are dealing with right now. 
    Holly and Todd talk about the play of Hunter Mahan and looking back at 2012 winning early in the season that year but fading at the end and not making the Ryder Cup in Medinah. Todd says that Mahan was devastated. So this year he is winning late and might play his way on to the Ryder Cup team.
    The goal is to get into the top 5 for the Tour Championship. If you are in one of those positions you control your destiny and could win the FedExCup. 
    Jeff Shain, PGA Tour.com, calls in to wrap up the show. Holly asks Jeff about the Deutsche Bank and the gauntlet of the playoffs. Because of the way the Ryder Cup is scheduled there is no week off like in the past. Brandt Snedeker has not taking a week off since the Open Championship.

    Holly and Rich talk about Camilio Villegas's win and how other players finished at the Wyndham Championship, the run up to the FedExCup Playoffs.
    Bob Harig, ESPN.com, calls in to talk about The Barclays and if Rory has a possibility of winning four in a row? Bob feels that Rory's schedule since his wins and all of his travel to support his sponsors, and watching Manchester United live may take a toll on his game?Rory has said that he'd like to win the FedExCup. Bob points out that Rory has won a couple of FedExCup events but not the FedExCup itself. 
    Holly asks if there are any late season players who may bubble to the top. Holly also wonders if the FedExCup and the fact that players are trying to make the Ryder Cup could be a distraction for some players. Keegan Bradley said that it is a tough spot to be in at this time. Bob feels that the FedExCup takes care of itself with the way you play. The Ryder Cup is not just results but more of how you play. As for a prediction for a Barclays winner, Bob feels that you have to go with a player like Snedeker who is in the hunt for the Ryder Cup.
    Holly asks local listeners to come out next Wednesday to see herself and Rich B do the Ice Bucket Challenge? Then maybe head over to Sam Snead's Tavern for a snack. Sneads is another new sponsor for The Golf Insiders. 
    Jeff Babineau, Golfweek Editor, calls in to talk to Holly and Rich. This is an exciting time of the year the way the FedExCup is set up. It used to be a big gap and a break in the season, but now there is meaningful golf to follow. Babineau really likes Jim Furyk and how he has been playing lately at these big events. He feels with Furyk's experience that he may make a good run in the FedExCup. 
    Camilo Villegas went back to back in 2008 winning the first two events of the FedExCup. Babineau stresses how hard it is to win on a weekly basis and you appreciate the wins much more. 
    Gunn Yang captures the U.S. Amateur Championship. Jeff shares with the listeners that the U.S. Amateur champ had fallen on hard times with injuries and had lost his scholarship at San Diego State University. After the win at the U.S. Amateur, Jeff said that Gunn's has given Gunn scholarship back. 
    Holly and Jeff talk about the Web.com Tour being pressure packed now with the upcoming four week playoff type event as players fight to get the Tour cards. 
    Bill Dickson, ChillSkinz towels, calls in to talk to Holly about this high tech towels. Very thin towel and just needs to be damp and waving it in the air causes the cooling to start. It stays cool for about 15 minutes at a time before you need to wave it again to get the cooling affect going again. It doesn't mold or mildew. It can be washed by NOT dried in the dryer.     Holly wraps up the segment talking to Steve about the Wegman's LPGA Championship in Rochester. Brittany Lincicome was beaten by Inbee Park for back-to-back victories at the Wegmans. 
    Holly likes Matt Kuchar to win this week and Rich likes Rickie Fowler at The Barclays.

    Holly G is in the studio with Rich Bianco. Rich shares that Gary Koch, former PGA Tour player and current NBC analyst Gary Koch won the 38th Florida Senior Open.
    Holly and Rich talk about the final round of the 2014 PGA Championship, won by Rory McIlroy. Rich feels that Mickelson wanted to stop the round due to darkness and finish Monday. Phil didn't want to be rushed and not be able to read the greens.
    Bob Harig, ESPN.com, talks to Rich and Holly about the finish of the PGA Championship and what went wrong. Bob says that there was already angst over not moving up the tee times as should have been done. He also mentions the advantages Rory had being able to watch Phil and Ricky hit their shots on 18. Brandt Snedeker is Bob's pick to win the Wyndham.
    Rich talks about the distance that Rory and other players are hitting it now. Their equipment is finely tuned as well as they are finely tuned.
    Alex Miceli, Senior Writer Golfweek, calls in from the USGA Amateur to talk to Holly about Tiger's chances for a Captain's Pick for the Ryder Cup. Alex feels that Tom Watson won't pick Tiger. Rich asks Alex about the number of players who made the playoff at the U.S. Amateur. Alex also talks about the end of the PGA Championship with Holly and Rich B.
    Holly and Rich discuss the Wyndham Championship and the final spots for the Ryder Cup.
    Beth Ann Nichols, Golfweek, calls in to talk about the Wegman's LPGA Championship in Rochester, New York. Holly and Beth Ann talk about Michelle Wie. This is the final time that the event will be held in Rochester and it's not certain that there will be a Rochester event.
    Todd Lewis, the Golf Channel, calls in from the Wyndham Championship to wrap up the show. Todd says that three of the most popular players in the world not named Tiger Woods were playing the final 9 at the PGA Championship. Rickey Fowler finished in the top 5 of all fours major championships this year. Todd was impressed with the way Rory came back after he lost the lead to claim this major.McIlroy said that he found out that he can win when he wasn't playing his best game.
    At the Wyndham, there are a bunch of guys trying to get into the FedEx Cup playoffs as well as play into the Ryder Cup in September. Todd wonders what Tom Watson is going to do on September 2 when he makes his Ryder Cup picks.

    Holly G is in the studio with special guest host Jeff Shain, PGATour.com. 
    Todd Lewis, The Golf Channel, calls in from Valhalla and says that Tiger Woods will play in the PGA Championship. The injury is a different spot in Tiger's lower back and it's not the same injury he had surgery for earlier.
    Jeff asks Todd if this all seems rushed for Tiger. He tees off in 14 hours and he is out playing the back 9 at the time of this broadcast. Todd says he doesn't feel Tiger would be here if he didn't think he could play and do well. 
    Tiger said that he is pain free and he is fine. Todd wants to know if Tiger "trusts" his back and his explosiveness through his swing? Todd said also that Tiger has not played well this season. 
    Holly and Todd talk about Tiger and the upcoming Ryder Cup team for this year's competition. Tiger is well outside the Top 200 of the FedEx Cup spots and is not actually qualified on points for an automatic Ryder Cup birth.
    Holly and Todd recap the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational results and how well Sergio, Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy all played and what it looks like for each of their chances.  Todd feels that Rory's driving ability gives him an advantage at Valhalla. He hits it so long, so straight and with little fear. 
    Brian Hewitt, Global Golf Post Editor, calls in to talk to Holly G and Jeff about the PGA Championship. Brian likes Graham DeLaet and Lee Westwood for the Championship. Sergio Garcia and Graeme McDowell are two guys you have to like for the PGA Championship.
    Brian talks to the duo about Tiger and his injuries and what his chances are? There was intense coverage of his warm up round earlier today. Brian thinks that any kind of survival Tiger will have to back it off a little bit and he is not sure Tiger is wired that way.
    Holly talks to Brian about Charles Schwartzel and Rickie Fowler's golf games of late and their chances. 
    Player of the Year seemed almost a lock for Martin Kaymer but now with Rory's success and the way Rickie Fowler has played all year it's not that easy to give it to Kaymer.
    Jeff asks Brian about Butch Harmon's, One of the World's Top Golf Teachers, work with Fowler and what is different?
    Jeff Babineau, Golfweek editor, calls in from the press center of Valhalla and talks about the injuries to some of the players in the field. Holly asks about Jason Dufner and what has been going on with his game of late and his chances for the Ryder Cup team?
    Steve Stricker was named one of the vice captains of the Ryder Cup team. Jeff Shain and Babineau talk about the Ryder Cup team and the last Ryder Cup for the U.S. has left a bad taste in a lot of the player's mouths. Babineau feels that Rory is the golfer to pick to win the PGA Championship. Maybe Keegan Bradley as a sleeper.
    Biggs Tabler, Those Weekend Golf Guys, radio show from Louisville, Kentucky calls in and talks about No. 13, the signature hole at Valhalla. About 350+ yards and Rory tried to drive the hole today during the practice round about he hit his 3 Wood first. Biggs talks about the course layout at Valhalla. 
    Jeff picks Rory as his number one choice to win the PGA Championship but is "rooting" for Rickie Fowler as Holly roots for Sergio Garcia.

    Holly G and Rich Bianco are in the studio talking about Tim Clark's win at the RBC Canadian Open as well as Bernhard Langer's domination in the season's third Champions Tour major championship.Holly talks about Spain winning the first LPGA International Crown.
    Bob Harig, ESPN.com, calls in from Akron, Ohio the site of this week's WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. Holly and Bob talk about defending champion Tiger Woods. 
    Bob was able to follow Tiger for 8 of 9 practice holes after his interview at the Bridgestone. Bob feels that Tiger is still struggling with driver but pointed out that the driver has not always been his best club that he hit in his bag. It's been about four months since Tiger's surgery so the fact that he is out there competing is huge. In Bob's article he points out the more than 40% of Tiger's wins have been at WGC events, which are "stacked" events with the best players in the world. Tiger has 18 of those wins and no one else has won more than 3 of them.
    Holly and Bob talk about the buzz going on in the golf world and the buzz around Rory McIlroy and the upcoming Ryder Cup. Rory says that he only wants to focus on the next major championship and not how many he will win. They also discuss Jim Furyk being so close and not being able to close the deal on the final day. 
    Jeff Shain, PGATour.com, joins the team and talks about the WGC Bridgestone at Firestone Country Club. Jeff covers the golf courses that the PGA events are played on throughout the season for PGATour.com. He feels that Adam Scott has set himself up pretty well for the final run of the season and has been playing really well of late. Jeff likes Adam and Graeme McDowell's chances this week at the WGC.Holly, Rich and Jeff talk about the Ryder Cup selections and Jeff feels that some of the players need to start showing Tom Watson something to make his picks easier.

    Holly G and Rich Bianco are in the studio talking about all the upcoming Open Championship in Liverpool.
    Brian Harman won the John Deere Classic  picking up his first win in 88 starts on the PGA Tour. 
    Colin Montgomerie won his second straight Major Championship on the Champions Tour. 
    Mo Martin held on for a one-shot victory with an eagle on the 18th hole to win the Women's British Open. 
    Holly spoke earlier in the day with Bob Harig, ESPN.com, from the Open Championship. Bob gives players a feel of the weather and the golf course layout. Bob mentions the history of the golf course at Hoylake from Bobby Jones to Tiger Woods.
    Holly asks Bob about Tiger's chances and what he thinks Tiger's realistic expectations should be coming back from surgery. Bob feels that Tiger needed more playing time before the Open. 

    Bob and Holly G talk about all the contenders who could possibly win this Open Championship.Adam Scott and Henrik Stenson the #1 and #2 players in the Official World Golf Ranking. Martin Kaymer coming off the U.S. Open win has to be a favorite and has been playing great since May. Holly and Bob talk about Rickie Fowler who has played well in windy conditions and has had Top 5 finishes in the majors this season. Bob feels that Rickie seems to enjoy links style courses and that is an advantage for Rickie. Bob doesn't like Phil Mickelson's chances at the Open Championship as he is still having some putting issues and no Top 10s of late.  Bob is rooting for Phil but is optimistic.Holly and Bob talk about Sergio Garcia and Lee Westwood's chances at the Open Championship. Bob likes Graeme McDowell to win and thinks that his game fits the course.
    Jeff Shain, PGA Tour.com, talks with Holly and Rich about the Open Championship. Jeff talks about Justin Rose, Adam Scott and others who have a great chance to win. Holly asks about the Molanari brothers and others who seem to rise up on the leaderboard out of no where. 
    Jeff feels that Henrik Stenson is playing well and might be the player who has not won a major that could finally break through as well as Sergio Garcia.
    Holly mentions to Jeff that she has heard that this course is playing like a chess match. Adam Scott is Jeff's first choice if he can get the putter going although he doesn't feel that the greens are going to be an issue this week. 
    Steve Eubanks from Global Golf Post calls in to wrap up the show talking about links golf. Steve says that anything can happen in links style golf as Mo Martin seemed to come out of nowhere last week to win the Women's British Open. 
    Steve likes Adam Scott and a few others. 
    Rich likes Rickie Fowler and Luke Donald, Rickie Fowler and Sergio Garcia's group. 
    Steve feels that Rory McIroy is facing the most pressure going into the Open Championship especially with the fans and how he has been falling off on Fridays after great opening rounds of late. 
    Holly likes Tiger Woods' pairing of Angel Cabrera and Henrik Stenson.

    Angel Cabrera won the Greenbrier Classic for his first win on the PGA Tour that was not a major championship. On the horizon is the John Deere Classic for the PGA, the Women's British Open and the U.S. Senior Open Championship.

    Holly asks Brian about Martin Kaymer and the way he dissected

    Pine Hurst and the way he outthought and outplayed everyone in the field.  It’s hard to say what Tiger Woods will do.

    Rich B says that Angel Cabrera is his dark horse pick.  He and Brian talk about his driving. When he

    gets it going, he can make it do anything he wants. Brian says that he is not a
    dark horse and he should be in your Top 5.

    US Senior Open in Oklahoma. Lauren Roberts has a chance to

    make history. Bernhard Langer, Jeff Slumann.  Brian mentions Joe Durant and Scott Verplank’s
    chances.

    Brian wraps it up talking about how great the U.S. Women are

    playing on the LPGA Tour. Michelle Wie and Lexie Thompson can become a
    potential rivalry. Because of the resurgence of the Americans there is a strong
    rivalry against the Korean women players. Brian feels that it sparks interest
    in the Pacific Rim where there are a lot of sponsors as well as American title
    sponsors. It’s all good for the LPGA.

    Rich and Holly G. Todd is heading out to the Open Championship in Hoylake. Holly asks Todd about Jordan Spieth defending at the John
    Deere Classic and his thoughts on the British Open.

    Favorites on the international side Rory McIlroy is the

    betting favorite. High ball flight will be affected by the wind there. Put a
    new 2 iron in his bag for the Scottish Open to give him some familiarity with
    him. Henrik Stenson is Todd’s pick. Sergio Garcia is his second international
    pick.

    Jon Luna, SuperStroke Sales and Marketing, calls in to talk to Holly and Rich B about the success of Jordan Spieth and SuperStroke putter grips. Jon talks about the non tapered design and patented parallel technology are the key ingredients to SuperStroke's success.  KJ was one of the main players to put SuperStroke on the map.

    Holly asks Jon about how Jordan's relationship with SuperStroke came about. Arnie Chamberlain is SuperStroke's Tour rep and has good relationships with a lot of the players. Jordan was digging through Arnie's bag on Tour one day and found the prototype and begged to have it on his putter right away.

    Steve Eubanks, Global Golf Post, calls in to talk to the team about Tiger Woods' chances to play well at the British Open. In his blog, Steve talks about how Tiger looked lost at the Quicken Loans National where he missed the cut. Jeff talks to Steve about how the way Tiger is approaching the major after being off after a surgery.     Terrie Purdum, Florida Golf Central Magazine publisher, talks to the duo about what's going on the world of golf. Terrie talks about the launch of Turf Life this past week. Terrie and her team have come up with the slogan that is similar to Salt Life that you see all over the automobiles traveling in the Central Florida area. Florida Golf Central Mag covers a lot of charity tournaments. 
    Each week Jeff Shain writes Turf Talk for PGATour.com and interviews the course superintendents at each PGA Tournament throughout the season. This week is the Old White TPC course home of the Greenbrier Classic.

    Kevin Streelman goes on a birdie barrage to win the Travelers Championship last week.
    Michelle Wie wins the U.S. Women's PGA Championship. The television ratings were up 92% from the year before.
    Todd Lewis, The Golf Channel, calls in from Congressional Country Club to talk to the Golf Insiders about Tiger and the tournament. Tiger was tremendously revealing about his health and very candid. 
    Todd says that Tiger wasn't looking very sharp at his practice round on Wednesday. This is more of a tune up for Tiger to see where his game is but it also helps his foundation by him playing.
    Holly asks Todd about Streelman's seven birdie streak on the back nine to win the Travelers. Todd shares that Kevin is not worried about numbers defining him but how he is as a father and a husband. 
    Todd also talks about Michelle Wie's first major championship victory. He and Holly talk about how much Michelle has matured over the past few years.  
    Beth Ann Baldry (Nichols), Golfweek, calls in to the show and talks about Michelle Wie and her tour of the Big Apple and the big media blitz Tuesday. Beth Ann talks about how eloquent Michelle was with the media and how it seems like the weight of the world was lifted off of her shoulders now that she has won a major championship. Beth says that Michelle is having fun now and it is spilling over into her game. No three putts at Pinehurst No. 2 for four rounds.
    Vartan Kupelian, PGA.com, calls in to wrap up the show. Vartan covers the Champions Tour and has covered the PGA Tour for many years. Holly asks him about Tiger slowing down. He is 38 years old and has had surgery on his knees and now his back. It takes a toll on anyone's body. Holly asks about Tiger's hunt for Jack's record on major championship. Vartan says it is not as easy now as there are a lot of great players and young players out there who can compete with Tiger for these major championships.
    Holly asks Vartan about the Champions Tour and how well they play week in and week out. Colin Montgomerie, Fred Couples, Kenny Perry, Bernhard Langer, and many more. Vartan is in Pittsburgh for the Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship.  He says that much like the weather at the World Cup for USA vs Germany on Thursday a lot of rain in the forecast. About 40 miles southeast of Pittsburgh is where Arnold Palmer's course is in Latrobe, Pa.

    Holly G and Rich Bianco are in the studio talking about Martin Kaymer's win at the U.S. Open Championship.
    Bob Harig, ESPN.com, kicks off the show reviewing the second major championship of the season.
    Bob and Holly talk about the fact that no one was talking about Kaymer or Erik Compton before the tournament kicked off. 
    Bob, Holly and Rick discuss the look of Pinehurst #2 and the mixed reviews it got from the public. Bob applauded the look of it and said that if we want to keep the cost of playing golf down, we are going to see more of it. Less watering and maintenance can help drive down the costs. They also talk about the look of the courses at the British Open. Mother Nature decides what the courses will look like there.
    Bob wraps up his segment talking about Phil tinkering too much with his putting. 
    Todd Lewis, The Golf Channel, calls in to talk about Martin "The Machine" Kaymer. Todd sat down and interviewed Kaymer and asked him what his goals are going forward. Kaymer said he doesn't set goals that way he doesn't have to meet expectations. 
    Todd and Holly talk about the U.S. Women's Championship. Todd feels that Stacy Lewis has a good chance to win. They also talk about 11-year-old phenom Lucy Li. Todd hopes she plays well and that will keep the heat off of her. 
    In news of the weird, Roger Maltbie's golf cart driver was arrested at the U.S. Open for DWI. Running over the foot of a North Carolina State Trooper, and much more.
    Beth Ann Baldry, Golfweek, calls in from The LPGA's second major... the U.S. Women's Open Championship from Pinehurst. Beth says the players are very impressed with the course and how it looks after the Men's Championship. The greens are going to run about the same speed as the Men's and the pin placements will be similar. 
    Beth Ann discusses the chances of Lydia Ko, Michelle Wie, Stacey Lewis. Michele Wie has a very underrated short game and great length off the tee. All about position golf. Stacy Lewis' game is in great shape. Beth Ann picks Lydia Ko with Fluff on the bag to win this week. 
    Steve Eubanks, Global Golf Post, calls in to wrap up the show. Holly mentions that Steve and Erik Compton share the same heart disease, but Steve has not had to have a heart transplant. Steve's story is in the Global Golf Post. Steve picks Jessica Korda. Rich picks Michelle Wie and Holly picks Lydia Ko.
