  • #47 Justine Martin | Surviving & Thriving with MS | Award winning artist, Resilience Consultant, MS Advocate
Our special guest is Justine Martin, who speaks with Sandy about her successful corporate life being turned upside down in 2011 when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Since then, she has battled three cancers and overcome a long list of serious medical conditions. Rather than allowing her hardship to overcome her, she has used it as a platform to inspire and make a difference in the lives of others.

Justine is a resilience consultant and speaker, plus an advocate for medical care.

She uses her own experiences of living with a disability to encourage others to take steps towards a positive future of their own by finding hope, overcoming adversity, and building resilience. She speaks from the heart, connecting with many audiences through her varied background in corporate, sales, art, volunteer work, and experiencing illness. She pursues any opportunity to inspire and empower members of the public, business owners, corporate teams, schools, and charitable and educational organisations. She has made many media appearances in television, radio, and print media over the years, and ran for parliament in 2010-2013.

A multi-award-winning artist, Justine runs wellness and art therapy classes in her studio in Marshall, Geelong. Her own artwork is available to purchase at JUZT Art Gallery located at Café Zoo in Drysdale.

  • #46 Libby Moore | Oprah's former Chief of Staff | Human Connector & Coach
Today in the Confessional, Sandy chats with very special guest, Libby Moore about her extraordinary career and her very personal life journey of discovering who she is. Libby worked as Oprah Winfrey's Chief of Staff for 11 years through to the end of the Oprah Winfrey Show. She also worked as a consulting producer with the original team that created the Emmy award winning Super Soul Sunday on the Oprah Winfrey Network. Libby is a Certified Life Coach, speaker/story teller, adventurer, and creative connector, who loves inspiring people to reconnect to Possibility in their life and career. She is on a mission to bring more love back into places of work.

Prior to her years with Oprah, Libby was an executive assistant to Jann Wenner of Wenner Media, publishers of Rolling Stone, US Weekly, and Men’s Journal. Before the magazine world, Libby collected great stories through two years of random-crazy-NYC-freelance jobs, all while advancing through comedy improv workshops at Gotham City Improv and performing in the sketch comedy group Urban Side Effects. Before jumping into the comedy world, Libby was Personal Assistant to Maury Povich, who she credits for launching her Executive Assistant career (even though she failed typing in College). Early in her career, Libby worked in both radio and print at: WFNX Radio, The Marblehead Reporter, and WNSH Radio. She currently lives a creative and inspired life, splitting her time between sweet spots on both the East and West Coasts.

Libby shares her hard-won wisdom with openness and authenticity. It was an absolute honour to chat with Libby and we know you will love her story.

  • #41 Sue Brabender | Tackling Burnout & Exhaustion | Founder Me Time. Just For Me.
Sue Brabender joins Sandy in The Confessional for her very first podcast (ever!) to talk about the misnomer that we can "have it all". Sue was successful and working almost 60 hours a week in the corporate world...which came at a huge cost to her mental and physical health. Suffering with exhaustion, for Sue the burnout was real - her work suffered, her family suffered, and she ultimately suffered, losing herself along the way.

For Sue, it took losing someone very dear to her to have an epiphany that she didn’t have to live this way anymore. What she realised was if she was going to be able to support others, she needed to look after herself first.

Sue started her own business - Me Time. Just For Me., born out of a need to do something for herself.

With a focus on self care ideas (and the gorgeous products to facilitate them!), her hope is that Me Time. Just For Me can heal and nourish, empower and inspire other women.

Sue talks openly and honestly about a break down that ultimately led her to starting her own business with a vision of helping others.

Please welcome Sue Brabender to The Good Girl Confessional!

  • #40 Tana Douglas | From AC/DC to Elton John | Meet the very first female Roadie | Author - LOUD
Tana Douglas is iconic in the music industry, being recognised as the very first female Roadie. As a teenage run away from Brisbane, Tana didn't join the circus - instead she joined the music industry. An adventure that would take her on a 30 + year journey around the world.

Over her incredible career, she has worked with some of the biggest artists in the world, including AC/DC, Elton John, Santana,  Suzi Quatro, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, INXS and Lenny Kravitz.

Tana and her unique position in the music industry have been included in several books – most recently a chapter in Stuart Coupe’s book, Roadies, which confirmed her as the first female roadie. But now it’s time for Tana to tell her story, in her own words. Her Memoir, LOUD, is out now, published through HarperCollins Australia (in both print and audio) and tells of the joys and struggles faced as a girl out on the road on her own in the wild and woolly days that created this industry of music.

Tana currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
