Last weekend (February 22 and 23), I completed the Gasparilla Distance Classic Michelob Ultra Challenge in Tampa, Florida. It entailed racing a 15K (9.3 miles) and 5K (3.1 miles) on Saturday; a half marathon (13.1 miles) and an 8K (4.97 miles) on Sunday. I not only completed the challenge, but won it overall out of 386 finishers! I discuss each race and my overall experience of race weekend in Tampa. Later I talk about many of the world records that have occurred in Track & Field and on the roads over the past month. I wrap-up the episode touching on the Tokyo Marathon which occurred yesterday evening at 6:15 central time; it was Sunday morning in Tokyo.------------------------------

I began the episode discussing the UW-W Whitewater Warhawk Cross Country Men's and Women's team's championship season this past fall. The bulk of this discussion covers the 2024 fall marathon season primary covering the Chicago and New York City Marathons. I brought on a guest for this episode of the pod, Gunner Schlender! I was teammates with him on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater cross country and track team teams. He is currently one of the top runners on the cross country team and is a 7 time All-American in xc and track combined.
