The Good, The Bad, and The Sequel

This week, we are discussing the sequel that gave us the best horror slasher ever with Friday the 13th Part 2. Without this sequel, we wouldn't have seen Jason in Times Square. In Part 2, we discussed some cool behind-the-scenes stories, how did he find Alice AND transported the body, the drunk somehow surviving, Muffin and Paul, and a ton more.

The next sequel up is "Frogtown II," and for it, I chatted with someone who is the reason I love reasons, Rhonda Shear. Rhonda hosted USA Up All Night, did stand-up, modeled, politics, clothing designer and entrepreneur, actress, and just an overall amazing human being. We discussed a ton but I love hearing about her time cross-promoting with WWF. Amazing chat

The next sequel we will discuss is "Friday the 13th Part 2". For it, I chatted with the Actor Russell Todd, who was the 1st machete victim of Jason Voorhees. Russell talked about his journey from outside Albany, where he grew up thinking he'd be a director, but that quickly changed when someone said he had that look. We discussed an epic audition story that led to his SAG card, his appearance in Friday the 13th Part 2, attending SNL After Parties in the early days, starting his agency for steadicam operators, and his recent return to acting.

This week, we are discussing a listener request with "The Rage: Carrie 2", a sequel I remembered really enjoying as a 13-year-old and still do. We discussed the connection to the original, why the Chess team is never the villains, the parts of the movie borrowed from other '90s flicks, the epic end scene, Rachel's power rules, and more. This was a fun one to discuss, for sure.

This is a fun one. Enjoy.

This week we are discussing "Speed 2: Cruise Control", which is on the Mount Rushmore of bad sequels. This one had us discussing the terrible shoe-horned plot, not knowing anything about each other after 7 months, Geiger being a lame bad guy, golf clubs being the corny decoy, having a random character from 1 in part 2, and a ton more. The fact that the end sequence cost almost as much as the budget of the original is crazy. So much screaming and nonsense in this one, but a blast to discuss.
