In today’s episode, Scarlett gives Ryan the chance to ask a burning question. Naturally, he wants to know what size her tits are. Recently, Mayko and Scarlett experienced a three-hour-long breathing exercise event. Today, they are unpacking the experience. Scarlett originally heard about this event through Instagram and remembers seeing posts from recent workshops featuring people experiencing intense emotional release during the exercises. Scarlet was intrigued by the event’s claim of providing “hours of therapy in one night” and decided to enlist Mayko into checking it out with her. Caramelo's daughter Selene joins the podcast to dish about her experience as a trans woman. Selene starts with an inside scoop about herself and her experience coming out as trans. Caramelo weighs in from his perspective as one of her strongest supporters throughout the journey. The pair discuss how Caramelo initially suspected Selene was gay from the mannerisms she displayed at an early age. They recollect the moment she came out to Caramelo and how she was so nervous that she texted her father from across the room about her newfound crush on a boy from school. Selene tells Scarlett about the pressure she felt in her early childhood to conform to the more traditional values of the Catholic school community that she attended. Luckily, she went on to attend a performing arts school in Dallas for her high school years, where she thrived. There, she was able to experiment more freely with how she dressed and presented herself and eventually, by age seventeen, expressed her wish to transition to her parents.
While Selene’s father was always supportive, her experience with her mother was more tumultuous. Selene discusses the challenges of coming out to her mom, who was much less supportive and understanding of her choices. The group discusses how challenging growing up in a religious community can be for those who do not fit into the norms prescribed by the church. Ironically, Selene shares that her mother went on to come out as a lesbian years later and is now married to a woman herself. Selene shares the frustration she felt when she learned her mom had been hiding this information from her, being someone that dealt with a similar ordeal. However, ultimately she feels that her mother’s coming out helped to improve their relationship, as her mom learned to come to terms with herself and found inspiration in the way that her daughter navigated her own journey. Selene goes on to elaborate on how being biracial has impacted her life and discusses how both sides of her family, Caramelo’s Latino side and her mother’s African-American side, dealt with her transition journey.
Scarlett then takes the opportunity to ask a few questions about the transitioning experience. The group talks about the process of constructive genital surgery and the various options offered. Scarlett begins the episode today with an introduction to a new guest, Caramello, and his story of being the parent of a trans child. Caramello helped his daughter throughout her transition immensely, beginning when she first came to him in her junior year of high school to confide that she identified more as a female than as a male. Immediately supportive, Caramello recounts being heartbroken and surprised when his daughter’s doctor told him that he had never before had a father come in with their transitioning child as support throughout the process.
Caramello’s story of parental encouragement leads into a discussion about how rare open and communicative parent-child dynamics are regarding topics such as sex and intimacy. Caramello and Scarlett weigh the benefits and consequences of being open and honest about sexual topics with their young adult-aged children and how Caramello has cultivated healthy communication with his daughter. Recently, Scarlett attended a burlesque show, where she met one of our two new guests, Northern Joy, the co-founder of the performing burlesque troupe. Scarlett couldn't resist inviting her to share her story with the GBW gang. Additionally, another new guest, Caramelo, tags along for the ride.
Joy starts the conversation by recounting her accidental foray into the world of burlesque through an audition that turned from reading for a 1-page script to a 3-month show. She tells the group about how this one-off chance turned into a life-long passion, eventually leading her to the troupe she has co-founded today. She dishes on all the drama that comes from working closely with people that love to be front and center at all times, and how she encourages her performers to take the inevitable drama in stride and stay respectful and mature.

Ryan joins Scarlett for the first time on the show today to discuss everything from business cards to sexy spirit fairies and the principle of supply and demand. In wrapping up the end of an era, Scarlett first takes some time to explain the thought process behind her decision.
She starts by reflecting on her ever-evolving journey since the last time she was in the studio recording. To gain some context into the journey that brought Scarlett to her realization, Athena first shares the profile of polarity coach, Zak Roedde, whose ideas she found intriguing and impactful enough in her own life that she had to send them over to Scarlett. Scarlett’s curiosity led her to engage with Roedde’s posts and his provocative opinions. She shares that while she initially felt triggered by Roedde’s polarizing posts, they are what ultimately tipped off her own journey of self-reflection into masculine and feminine energy.
The group discusses the difference between feminine and masculine energies and how many women find themselves trapped in masculine energy and therefore out of touch with their feminine energy and needs. Athena and Scarlett discuss the caveats of how to best approach this view of feminine and masculine energy in a way that doesn’t foster compliance instead of trust. Scarlett shares how the energetic foundation she laid for herself helped her to eventually become receptive to Zak’s ideas.
She then turns the baton to Mr. Vegas to share his side of the experience and how he came to buy into the masculine and feminine ideology himself. Scarlett and Athena discuss their unique experiences learning how to shift from giving to receiving energy. Lolita even muses on how she has changed since being subjected to the group chatter–even though she isn’t sure she's fully on board with all of it just yet. The group recounts handling a recent encounter at a Dave Matthews Band concert and Scarlett unpacks how her struggles to lean into her feminine energy have impacted certain relationships in her life, such as her relationship with her father and with her soon-to-be ex-husband.
Rounding out the episode, Scarlett returns to how her decision to hand off the podcast comes from her wish to work on her feminine receiving energy and how she has used these techniques in handling her initial feelings of conflict with Chase during the process of handing over the reins. Ultimately, the group discusses their own findings and their hopes for what others can learn from examining their own energies as well.

Scarlett brings a very special new guest into the GBW world onto today’s episode, her daughter, Mayko. Luckily, Mayko is not squeamish talking about her mom’s sexual explorations because they have always been so frank with each other in their conversations. Mayko expresses how blessed she feels to have had a mother who will openly have important discussions about sexuality and help her feel comfortable about such things. Scarlett has been so excited to introduce Mayko to Vixen, especially knowing how much the two have in common from their open and affirming relationships to their mothers to their excitement about sex.
Scarlett recently returned from a podcast convention in Vegas and wants to spill all the details about her trip. She starts by recounting her crappy day leading up to her flight to Vegas. The girls discuss how stress can compound our reactions to things, and in Scarlett’s case, how ‘hanger’ caused her to lash out at Mr. Vegas for not being able to help her in the way she was expecting in the moment. She shares how this initial conflict actually triggered some great discussions between herself and Mr. Vegas, and led to them defining their relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend. Scarlett’s story reminds Mayko of how she awkwardly and accidentally confessed her feelings to her current boyfriend at the start of their relationship. This leads to a discussion about the discomfort that defining relationships can create and why Scarlett appreciates the flexibility that polyamorous relationships provide.
Scarlett then gets back into her story about the Vegas conference. She tells the girls about how while she was at the conference, she met up with a woman that she connected with through the convention’s app. This woman confided in Scarlett that she was curious about her own sexual preference and had decided that this conference would be the one where she explored her sexuality with another woman. Scarlett details the experience of going from wing-woman to hook-up with this girl to help her confirm that she is, in fact, a lesbian (and that Scarlett is still, in fact, not). Scarlett shares how her lack of discretion and propensity for antics seemed out of the girl’s element but they still enjoyed each other’s company and taught each other a good deal about themselves in the process.
