The gospel of Jesus is offensive—it challenges pride, confronts sin, and calls people to surrender. Jesus Himself was rejected—misunderstood and dismissed. The same rejection He faced is something we will encounter as His disciples. How do we handle it? Do we compromise under pressure, or do we stand firm with joy, righteousness, and unwavering faith? Looking at Mark 6, we see how pride blinds the people of Nazareth from recognizing Jesus and their unbelief limits what He can do in their lives. The same is true in our culture today. But no matter how others respond to us, our confidence isn’t in their approval—it’s in the reality that we are fully known, fully loved, and forever accepted in Christ. That truth gives us the strength to stand firm, no matter what comes our way.
