  • Episode 72 - Wake Up and Show Up with Portia Scott

I’m really having a blast cranking out these extra episodes right now and I have to say that I’m getting just a little selfish about it all - I’m meeting the most amazing people and hearing some fantastic stories about life, love, passion, and purpose.  With all of this Covid-19 noise going around out there, it’s SO NICE to hear happy stories from people who have worked really hard to make amazing things happen!

And with that - I would like to introduce Portia Scott!  I met up with this fellow podcaster at Podcast Movement Evolutions in LA.  Portia’s session was the first I attended and it really set the bar high for the other presentations.  We talk about what it means to Wake Up and Show Up and trust yourself in your most authentic life. And talking with Portia holds a special place in my heart, as she is a US Army Veteran, having served five years including two tours overseas in Kuwait and Iraq.

Portia is the host of the Wake Up and Show Up podcast and CEO of Portia scott Media out of her passion to inspire and empower people to take their lives off autopilot,  realize the power of their uniqueness and execute in every area of their lives.

Portia is a veteran of the United States Army, where she served two tours in Iraq.  She is a multifaceted business professional, entrepreneur and speaker who intentionally tries to seamlessly align family and career.  Portia has had a successful career in the field of Project Management but left the comfort of her 9-5 to pursue her passion of storytelling in her own way to help individuals and organizations live and operate intentionally.  She also creates goal execution strategies for individuals and organizations.

Portia’s most valuable asset is her family.  She is a wife and mother to three beautiful children.  You can usually find her in the carpool lane, spending Monday’s around Atlanta with the love of her life or hanging out in the living room with a good book and her family.

NOW:  are you catching a theme to these episodes thus far?  I hope so, because I AM trying to make a point.

Working from home is HARD and it can be a lonely situation.  Right now, more than ever, we need to feel the community around us and we need to feel as though our work matters.  Working from home is kind of like figuring out college after four years in high school - no one is going to tell you to go to class, wake up on time, or brush your teeth before bed.  You gots to figure that out all by yourself.

  • Episode 71: Self-Love Saved My Life, with Kayla Delargy

Before I get into the nitty-gritty of today's episode, PLEASE go krismcpeak.com and krismcpeak.com/coping to check out all my resources, Covid-19 and beyond!

In particular, I want to highlight the Grow Your Business Bundle right now, as Ultimate Bundles has totally SLASHED the price!  You can get this bundle - worth more than $18,000 - for just $249 or two payments of $124.50.  Even if you know you're going back to work when the crisis subsides, starting a side hustle right now is an AMAZING idea, as this pandemic is teaching us that multiple streams of income is NOT a bad idea.  The bundle goes away on April 6th, so get it NOW.

Okay - Kayla!  I connected with Kayla Delargy in September, but we were never able to really get together until now, but bless that girl's heart, she did not give up on me!  And I'm glad, because deep down inside I think Kayla is my spirit animal.  You are going to LOVE her outlook on life and her passion for LOVE.

About Kayla, in her own words.....

"I'm Kayla! A fellow female entrepreneur, fitness enthusiast, and a free-spirited self-love junkie.    I knew if I wanted to travel the world, experience life to the fullest, and truly love my own life - I had to become my own boss, I HAD to become a female entrepreneur.    …and a successful one at that if I was going to fulfill all of my desires.    With the past three years of online marketing experience, creating and launching two successful brands, and coaching multiple women to achieving their own desired success, I am confident I can help you create a profitable and sustainable business & lifestyle you love.   These days I spend my time sharing my favorite self-love practices, female entrepreneurial tips and tricks, and ways of living a true freedom-lifestyle. The fundamentals I will show you are my proven methods to not only create the business you're desiring, but how to love yourself more during the process…"   And if you want to sign up for Core4, the fitness program we discuss in her interview, you can do that HERE.

  • Episode 70: DEEP Work at our "Pique" Performance with Cristina Roman

How is everyone holding up out there?  By the time this episode posts, I will have been working remotely for ten days.  I feel good - it’s been a smooth transition….but I do find that without the daily check in with my team, I get a little lost.  I do love having regular connection with my fellow Foundation Femmes each day beyond just using What’s App and checking my email.  So if I can’t meet face to face, then our daily Zoom calls are the next best thing. We even do Wednesday Afternoon Dance Parties via Zoom and those are the best!

But I digress.  This week’s episode deals with additional conversation about productivity and how we can make the most of our days at home right now.  I’m joined by Cristina Roman of Pique Coaching. And we have a good old time discussing deep work and the best ways to make these remote working experiences worthwhile.

Cristina Roman is a Washington, DC-based Certified Life Coach. She helps distracted, rushed, overwhelmed professionals free up their time and energy, so that they can finally refocus on that thing they've put on the back burner. (Is that you? Download this quick-start guide for getting into a deep work state in 15 minutes.) She half-jokes that she’s the Cross Legged Coach; her goal is always to keep things casual but wildly impactful for her clients.

Do you need someone to talk to about working from home, feeling isolated, or just want to scream, shout and let it all out?  CLICK HERE to schedule a free Coping Session with me!!

It’s been a really great week and I’m all about Every!  Single! Silver! Lining! that I can find out there right now.  I feel ridiculously connected to my co-workers right now during a time when people are fearing isolation; and I’m feeling incredibly productive  working at home even though I have distractions all around me. As Michael Rooker so profoundly says, in JFK, “This is CRAZY!.”

So crazy, in fact, that I feel like busting out content as soon as I produce it right now.  I hope y’all don’t mind a few extra episodes to check out while you’re working from home and/or commuting to your living room.

Today’s episode features THE Productivity Specialist, Amber de la Garza.  DANG - was this woman a blast to talk to! No playing around with this girl - she’s a bad ass bar none.  We get into a whole bunch of things, namely why YOU are your own productivity problem/solution as well as how to figure out productivity if you are working remotely for the first time.

Amber has TONS of resources for you.  She doesn’t recommend apps for productivity because there is no one solution for everyone.  She does have one recommendation that works for her and has a great discount too: Click UP.

Additionally, you can find one of Amber’s FREE TRAININGS right here.

  • Episode 67: Coping with Corona

As I’m writing these show notes I’m well aware that tomorrow morning I’ll be headed to work, but only to gather my laptop and a computer monitor and come straight home, where I’ll spend the next three to four weeks doing a version of “shelter in place” here in Los Angeles as the nation tries to avoid the additional spread of Covid-19.

And I’ve been pretty freaked out about this.

I got together with some of my podcasting friends so we could talk about how we’re coping with the situation right now - and also what tips they have for getting through the crisis and staying healthy.

During times like this, we need community more than ever - and I’m so grateful that I have friends who not only have great podcasts that educate and empower, but they were willing to get really honest and forthright about their fears, their concerns, and ways to cope right now.

    My guests today include:

Janice McQueen-Ward - Beauty Call Podcast

Tamar Medford - The Road to Health Podcast

Allison Melody - The Food Heals Podcast

Please visit their websites and listen in to their shows - these ladies are all amazing and have so much to offer you.

By the way - the Morning Routine Glory Challenge is starting up this Monday, March 23rd.  You can sign up for that event HERE.

  • Episode 65: Project 333 with My Hero, Courtney Carver

This week on Elevate Your 8….I get to talk to a personal hero of mine, Courtney Carver, whose new book “Project 333: The Minimalist Fashion Challenge That Proves Less Really is So Much More” is out now!

Courtney and I talk about her new book, another hero of ours, Laura Vanderkam, and how we can get rid of using the word BUSY all together.  It's easier than you think!

    Check out Courtney's STUFF below:

Soulful Simplicity: How Living with Less Can Lead to So Much More

Be More with Less - Simplicity is the way back to love

Project 333 - The minimalist fashion challenge

Courtney Carver writes things. She wrote a book called Soulful Simplicity and the simplicity blog, bemorewithless.com. She shares things that make her laugh and cry on Instagram (@bemorewithless). She doesn't know her Myers Briggs Type but she knows she's an introvert because she needs to be free from humans several times a day (cats and dogs are always welcome).

Carver doesn't have an impressive degree, awards, or a big, fancy home full of stuff. Instead, she selectively surrounds herself with her favorite things and people she loves. She does work she truly cares about, goes on adventures (in the world or in her own backyard) and likes chai lattes with almond milk while reading or writing.

  • Episode 64: F*ck Anxiety and Get S*it Done with Vikki Louise

I had a delightful time talking with this week’s guest, Vikki Louise of the F*ck Anxiety and Get Sh*t Done Podcast.  This woman does not mess around and it’s really easy to see why her clients love her. Vikki has a great attitude about helping people get over the humps of anxiety, especially when it  freezes us up and prevents us from moving forward. A truly honest and genuine conversation, and I LOVED this interview!

Vikki graduated from the London School of Economics and worked for finance and tech companies across London and NYC, before turning her personal development hobby into a successful career as an Anxiety & Procrastination Coach. Her style of coaching is tough and successful, it is a no BS approach. It is a blend of neuroscience, evolutionary biology, life coaching tools and tough love that teach people to understand their brain, learn tools on how to rewire their thinking to get results they want - and empower people to actually use the tools and get it done! Vikki certified at The Life Coach School and now hosts the F*CK Anxiety & Get Sh*t Done podcast available on iTunes.

  • Episode 63: Don't Worry, Be Happy with Ashley Looker

This week’s Podcast Guest is my new best friend - and she might not completely  know it yet, but then again she might!

Ashley Looker is a Wellness + Empowerment Coach (website HERE) who supports badass, ambitious human beings in creating sustainable health and happiness in their lives, without escaping to Bali or going on a juice cleanse every month. She believes that your most vibrant health and deepest joy are within your power and she teaches you how to access, daily. She is the author of the 108 Day Happy As Fuck Habit Journal - a daily journal all about creating happiness from the inside out.

During our fabulous girl chat, Ashley and I talk about happiness, mindfulness, Goals with Soul (not her phrase, but she loves it and so do I) and one of our other favorite podcasters, Sarah Steckler.  Ashley is gifting us a copy of her “Happy as F*ck” Journal and here’s how you can enter:

    1.  Go to www.krismcpeak.com/happy and enter your email address
    2. Follow me (@krismaspeak) and Ashley (@ashleylooker) on Instagram
    3. Comment on either of our posts about the show and tag a friend who should hear it!

Yes, it’s a lot of steps, but this is A LOT of super journal we’re giving away!
