The picture of Christ as our Shepherd is intended to bring comfort, peace, and guidance everyday of our lives.

Jesus is both fully God and fully man, and this passage shows us why this matters. We can trust that Jesus provides both understanding to our plight as well as grace and mercy in our weakness. Consider what it means to hold fast to the confession of your need for Jesus.

There are moments in life where we are lost, hopeless. Circumstances occur that lead us to the pit of anguish and we cry out to God, "Where are you"? Psalm 22 teaches us that God is always present, even when it seems like He is not.

God’s Word is our authority for all things in life. The description of the power of Scripture here should inspire us to prioritize our study of it. It also gives us the reminder that all people will answer to the Creator of the universe. This week, reflect on how God’s Word has changed your life.

The Lord's Prayer is an example prayer given to us by Jesus as we learn to pray. We pray with persistent, desperate, boldness with full confidence in God as we seek to know Him more and to become more like Him.

Once again we see allusions to the creation of the world, recognizing that God rested and that He has created rest for His people. But we see the application goes beyond a weekly Sabbath and points to the ultimate rest in heaven. Think carefully about the serious tone of the writer’s warning that begins this passage.
