The prophets and the writings of the Jewish people had pointed to the coming of a saviour for thousands of years. And yet many of them missed him. When the Magi learned of the place of Jesus birth their response was hugely different to that of King Herod. These “magicians “ from the East recognised and accepted the baby in the manger whereas the religious and civic leaders rejected him. 

Bev asks us to think outside of the religious and cultural boxes we have formed around the Christmas story and see as God sees, loving all people, especially the marginalised, poor and needy. She outlines the purpose incarnation and asks us to embrace changes of direction as we hear God speaking to us personally. 

A deeper understanding of what God wants to do in us and in the world leads us to confidence in coming to him and serving him. 

The gap we sometimes perceive between what we hope for and what God wills and does or does not do, can be confusing and disappointing. This can lead to anger and even ongoing bitterness.

Naomi helps us to see that Gods route to glory is born from his perfect love and knowledge, and results in our wholeness. In John 17 Jesus reveals what God hopes for - that we would be with Jesus in all things.
