Mark Hallet brings us a brand new seminar called "Deeper: Signs of The Times".

Part I

In this weeks Grainery Church sermon and continuing on with The Book of John, Naomi Fraser returns with an amazing message on how we can find true spiritual nourishment with God.

Damon Herington who is one of our Youth Ministries Leaders comes and gives an amazing message on receiving the Power from God at our 6pm service.

Ps Paul West starts week 2 of our journey through Book of John on the topic of Power at our Grainery Steel River Campus AM message.

From Ephesians 6:10-19 Amy eloquently and using visuals and personal stories that will shock even the hardest heart, speaks of an “unseen battle”.

She talks about this passage as a “call to arms”. Evil is the enemy. Evil personified in humans destroys the life of humans. God’s armour is essential in this battle- a battle which was won in Christ by his resurrection power.

This enables us to have an assurance of victory. The captives are being set free. The broken are being healed.

The world is full of injustice and non of us like it. After defining justice as it means to God, and

giving examples of what justice is not, Pastor Sue explores the story of the woman caught in adultery found in John 8.

From international relations to our interpersonal relationships Sue applies biblical principles to Gods call on Christians to bring light into the world in the form of spiritual warfare - salvation and a repentant life of humble reliance on God.

She concludes that we need to trust in the saving grace of Jesus - no pretence, just accepting Jesus our advocate and rejecting the kingdom of darkness.

Foundations make a big difference. Jesus is the firm foundation upon which the Bible tells us to build our life. This is how we will flourish.

It is what it means to be a “disciple” - a committed follower of Jesus. Sue explains how this foundation begins - with repentance and faith which are the beginning of Christian character and of real, fulfilling life (as opposed to rule following life). You don’t do to become - you do because you are!

Storms will come to everyone and Sue outlines how we can put the words, works and ways of Jesus into practice in our own life, giving practical examples of how we can prosper and “reign” in life.

What is the best way to change society? Perhaps it’s to tell an alternative story ie the gospel story, Love God, Love your neighbour, Live it in a lost world which is without hope, war or climate change.

Tim suggests that these have led the world again to the geo-political problem of famine.

He suggests that humility is a foreign value in this increasingly secular nation and that we need to understand the times in which we live as Christians.

In this weeks sermon from our Steel River Campus, Tim will bring a story which answers the most basic questions of life and brings a unity and love which transcends nationalism and any other “ism”.

Abundant life is inextricably linked to our salvation and our relationships with other people - the “golden rule” is at the centre of this. “Do unto others…” said Jesus. He also talked about the “broad gate” and the “narrow gate”.
