We got Josh back for another episode but that’s not all! We have from the cartoon smash hit of the mid 2000’s Sons of Butcher, comes a great guest for our Review of Bud The C.H.U.D, Trevor Ziebarth! Cartoonist, rock musician, and most important, horror fan, he suggested this film and BOY did we have thoughts! This is a great one. So enjoy Trevor’s coolness and then enjoy amazing music from his not one but TWO bands!

Pride Moth is over. The greyscale rainbow finally shows its end. while some queer elements have been more obvious than others, there’s no denying the lesbian energy in this one. It ends strong with a very decent film that has spawned remakes and a Netflix series. So watch it and then hear us talk about it!

Pride Moth continues. This theme month celebrating the greyscale rainbow is nearing its end but we have more to come. This week we share a film that has been co-opted by many queer publications though we find it lacking in coded messaging ourselves, we will stand by their assertions and give this film the Graveyard Shift treatment. This movie features a woman who fears she descends from a cat tribe, a terrible psychiatrist and a very dopey privileged man who laments that he’s never known hardship.

Pride Moth 2023 continues to celebrate the greyscale rainbow with more James Whale cinema. This time we have our first double bill, as we celebrate both Universal Frankenstein films in one episode as they are both halves of the same story.

It’s the Graveyard Shift Horror Podcast 300th episode! While we would love to reflect on the show, our past, our achievements, and our future, we are instead gonna focus on a movie worthy of this milestone, Psycho! We continue the Pride Moth 2023 celebration of the Greyscale rainbow, celebrating coded classics with queer villains and themes! We are joined by Joshua Clough and Gio Petti to celebrate this big milestone, with Eric joining us as a cameo appearance!

We did NOT forget Pride Month. We just don’t need one month in the year to celebrate it. We will honour the greyscale rainbow as we take on coded queer films that showed your freak flag can fly even if its monochrome! Classic black and white horrors will be on the menu as we start with a film that was lost for 85 years, James Wales “The Old Dark House” lampoons Hollywood tropes, even in the time they were just getting started. Satire from the early 30’s that does a great job. We have trans and queer characters, several queer actors, by an openly gay director. The closest we could get to a pride parade at the time, this is a REALLY good film and you can get it on Youtube, and you SHOULD.

We end Video Game Horror Month on the Graveyard Shift as we have covered movies BASED on games, and involving games, so its only fair to end with a game that inspired a horror game. that was so good it inspired another game FRANCHISE. We talk about the Japanese film Sweet Home , that inspired the NES game that was SO SCARY it was kept in Japan. Seriously look at the plays on YouTube, this game pushes the system to its limits, in terms of engagement, and gore. So what about the film? It’s great! check out the movie on YouTube as well.

Well we walked through the valley of the shadow of Boll, we haven’t left the shit woods yet. Video Game horror month proceeds as we discuss Brainscan. Eddie Furlong showed us his chops in Terminator 2 and made a name for himself as the kid dealing with fatal technology out to get him. But the real star of this show was the villain, Trickster. and for some reason we have Frank Langella.

We continue the theme of Video Game horrors. After the success of Werewoves Within, we needed a break from quality, wit, charm, and logic of any kind. Which led us to Uwe Boll. It was only a matter of time. but bear with us, as we endure this for your entertainment. It gets better next week.

We say farewell to last months theme as we stay indoors and enjoy some Video Game Horrors. We are joined by Eric and comic artist Ryan Estrada to discuss Werewolves Within. We haven’t played the game but this movie made an impression on all of us to be sure!
