We needed a different bearded saviour to fight vampires after JCVH left us hungry, so as we end pride month and begin the 4th of July, we decided its time for presidents to get their due, for uniting a nation in times of crisis while fighting the supernatural. What do you get when you let Tim Burton and his various aliases conspire to have the greatest president fight the undead and the scourge of slavery? You get..well …this. and our thoughts on it.

Pride Month of 2020 comes to an end with 2001 Maniacs! As the confederate statues are getting taken down, as they should, the south is rising with Mayor Buck and his sons of varying intelligence to dispense some southern hospitality for guts and glory. Directed by Tim Sullivan but with less music than “i was a teenage were-bear” this is a rip roaring, hooting hollering good old time, and a strong finish to our first Pride Month.

Jesus Christ has returned, to save the lesbians of Ottawa, in an exploitation flick that was shot on weekends over 2 years. Mike is dropping names like the guy in an infomercial that can’t carry what he needs and laments the lack of a better way. Eric from the 2 Bearded losers Podcast joins him in celebrating pride month and the life of the luchadore you want by your side when facing Vampires, Santos!

No Kill of the week since we just forgot.

Week 3 of Pride Month 2020 gives us the 70’s and 80’s of queer horror history and the movie of discussion is Chillerama. a mixed bag of pastiches of the 30’s, 50’s, 60’s and 80’s by 4 directors and several cameo appearances by celebrities and porn stars. With ups and downs and one exceptionally continuous high, this anthology movie may not be for everyone but it’s got something for everyone. and that something is “The Diary of Anne Frankenstein” with Kane Hodder as the monster, Messhugganah. The rest of the movie is debatable but Eric and Mike will fight you if you don’t love this.

Eric joins mike for week 2 of Pride Month 2020 as we continue celebrating queer cinema with history lessons, and a long painful look at a long painful film.

The hunger (1983) is an AIDS metaphor with David Bowie and has a lesbian scene in it, but is that enough to save this artsy fartsy tripe? take a guess.

It’s Pride Month and we’re celebrating it on the Graveyard Shift. Queer actors, queer themes, and queer horror contributions over the last century will get their due. We will shine a light and celebrate those that either lived openly or had to code their characters. From lesbian vampires that existed before Dracula, to the story of B&W movie legend James Wales, to lesbian ghost movies, the past is loaded and coded as we see how cinema up to the 50’s had to change, hide or otherwise evade the strict censors of the times.

Then we kick off our theme month with Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge. What a film, and what a story behind the scenes!

Buckle up cause this bus is tearing through the dessert like Priscilla! Enjoy!

Mike is joined by Eric to celebrate the birthday of triplets… from 3 separate mothers. during an eclipse. For a slasher with NO twists , and a ripoff from Children of the Damned, it has a lot of things going for it. Not to mention naked Julie Brown. yes. the Goddess in Progress that brought us Earth Girls Are Easy, while warning us the Home Coming Queen had a gun, who loved them Big and Stupid. This movie is so much better than it has a right to be.

Mike is joined by Eric this week as we take in a lockdown horror from Canada that is as cheap as it is amazing and entertaining. Proof that you don’t need a budget at all to make something compelling, this has a unique take on the zombie apocalypse and really plays on isolation and other isolation like isolation, isolation, isolation, isolation, isolation, isolation…..

Johnny joins Mike to watch and review the sequel to an amazing movie. not so amazing follow up. what follows one f the best movies is one of the worst movies that undoes the originals most important elements and has James Earl Jokes as discount Jimminy Cricket. sigh. but at least we have a hilarious death.
