The Graveyard Shift Horror Podcast

The guys put on their flea collars and grab their shovels because this week they watched Pet Sematary (1989). Sheldon brings up some of the movie's inconsistencies, Mike gets stuck on Wikipedia mode, and they talk about the Pet Semetary movie that could have been.

This week the guys talk about an ancient form of entertainment and skip to the sequel when they watch the found footage gorefest anthology, V/H/S/2. The movie with 4 stories that can be summed up as... Eye see dead people, Cycle-pathic killer, The parent death trap, and worst alien story ever. We learn what comes first the movie or the podcast, Sheldon and Mike have a difference of opinion on certain scenes, and due to listener feedback a certain segment makes a triumphant return.

We Have our first guest ever on the show and it is a great one. Director/producer Tricia Lee has just released a new creature feature movie called "Blood Hunters" and came on the show for a conversation about it. We also chat about how she got into film making, her favourite horror movies, and Mike lets us know how he preps for an interview.

Blood Hunters is available on DVD and on VOD.

You can find out more on Blood Hunters and Tricia on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/tricialeekalpakis

And on Twitter at @TriciaLee_

Mike lives long enough to watch our awesome fan pick, Evil Dead (1981). We talk about how low budget can still equal a great movie, Sheldon reminisces about meeting Bruce Campbell, Mike learns there is a musical version of Evil Dead, and the guys discuss how no one in this movie knows how to use a knife and if the Ash VS The Evil Dead TV show is any good. (spoiler: HELLS YEAH IT IS)

This week we watched a fan pick, The Blob (1988). We discover that sometimes a remake can be better than an original if the original is a 1950's cheesey classic and you add some 1980's special effects and a dash of HELL YEAH AMURICA! Mike gives a history lesson that's probaly not real and we disagree on email policies.

We had The Shining (1980) for this weeks viewing pleasure thanks to a fan pick. Great movie despite some flaws and a waaaay too long runtime. We learn that Mike is not a fan of some of Stanley Kubrick’s other works, we get a tough question from a fan of the show (tough for Sheldon anyway), and we have some exciting news for our patreons.

This week we watched the surreal Italian zombie flick known as Cemetery Man (1994), AKA Dellamorte Dellamore, Aka My Fiance is a zombie (for some reason). We learned that Zombies + Motorcycles = Earthquakes, disembodied zombie heads get super powers, and that reality as we know it may take place in a snow globe. Also, Mike may have a new catch phrase.

We had a howling good time this week watching the John Landis horror classic, An American Werewolf In London (1981). We discover that if there is no award for your craft, they'll create one if you are good enough and that doing a British accent is hard (if you're not British that is). A great werewolf movie dispite some flaws.

Our second episode coming at ya like a herd of cattle being chased by dinosaur. We watched the weird west monster movie, The Beast Of Hollow Mountain (1956). Blame Mike. And because we are gluttons for punishment, we took a glimpse at some other monster movies that may be on an even lower level than this one.

For our first movie we chose Fright Night (1985) which we couldn’t wait to sink our teeth into, and it was fang-tastic. One of the best Vampire movies of the 80's. Enjoy!
