We will talk about how he came up with the idea for the film, the rules the filmmaker's needed to follow to make their films, and the creativity the directors came up with to bring their stories to life.

We spoke about how The Dark Knight brought film criticism back into focus at that time. We also discussed the stigma of the horror movies being for "idiots", and how "men don't watch horror movies". We discussed how horror movies can raise questions about the "Evil Other", how the monster can represent the hidden desires within ourselves, and how the very best horror films can make the monster sympathetic.

We discussed the making of his film, and his career as one of the great Directors of Photography. It was truly an honor to have him on my podcast.
