Hello. You're listening The Greater Us, a podcast where we think about anti-oppression work and deep culture change through a trauma-informed lens. I'm Leena Akhtar.
There is, of course, some wordplay in the name "The Greater Us." in one sense, it is about expanding our definition of "us." in another, it's about showing up as the most expansive version of ourselves-- as who we want to be in the world.
So what does it mean to expand the definition of us? What does doing that make possible? What does it mean show up fully and live into our intentions for who we want to be in the world?
These are all questions that i'm taking in an interest in in this podcast. For people of empathy, compassion, and people who think that better things are possible for the world, whose response to seeing injustice is to get curious about how we got here and to understand so that it doesn't happen again, who want to figure out a way to intervene and need strategies to help them stay in the crucial work of planting the seeds of a better world- this is for you.
