Dr. Dominique Jones, DNP CNM APRN PHN is certified nurse midwife. She received her Master of Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from the University of Minnesota. She works as a full scope certified nurse midwife within a large healthcare system in the heart of Minneapolis, MN. She is co-creator of the Indigenous and Midwives of Color Committee (IMOCC), a group of midwives providing community, holding space, offering mentorship, and ultimately supporting for each other.
Dr. Jones is passionate about providing care that encourages meaningful engagement, respect, and self-advocacy. She recognizes that much of the Black maternal health crisis and the poor health outcomes of communities of color is a direct result of racism and not an inherent less than among these communities. She strives to create a space in her care where all individuals but specifically black birthing individuals feel heard, seen, supported and truly cared for. Dr. Jones will be leading a culturally concordant group prenatal model for American born Black women.
