Community gardens don’t only serve the purpose of providing nutritional value to one’s diet – they also provide a healthy extracurricular activity for the gardeners themselves. For Wilmington resident Adrienne Spencer, gardening helped her pass the time while serving time in Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution. Her green thumb not only gave her and other women there a sense of purpose, but it also set her up for her current career as urban farmer for the Delaware Center for Horticulture .

A Trump presidency means different things to different people. And just a few days after the election, Delawareans of all ages are still digesting the news. That includes high schoolers, like those in our Generation Voice project at Mount Pleasant High School in the Brandywine School District.

Questions about the accuracy and value of polling and predictive models have come into question after Donald Trump’s surprising victory. The one poll done of Delaware before election day by University of Delaware’s Center for Political Communication displayed both strengths and flaws. So, we asked the Center for Political Communication’s Paul Brewer to analyze the First State results and what we’ve learned about the usefulness of polls.

Election Day 2016 is now over. Delaware’s statewide races went pretty much as expected, but there was one major surprise in the General Assembly – one that sets up the possibility the State Senate could flip to Republicans. The election results also have state Republicans eyeing the future with more optimism than they’ve had in recent years.
