Art takes Congressmen for a tour along the southern border. Smugglers continue to use young adults reaching out to them on social media and Art tells us about some of those methods. The outcome of this has been those that have recruited then run from Border Patrol when discovered and causing traffic accidents and death to innocent motorist and in some cases the smuggler. Gotaways from those illegally crossing is now expected to tap close to One Million, why is this such a concern? Art gives us some points to ponder. While Art loved the recent Movie starring Austin Butler, he talks about a movie he saw in 1979 on TV which starred Kurt Russell as Elvis. He takes the opportunity to school Andy on the film and TCB Band while Art learns about Jerry Scheff from the Band. Art also has a little debate as to which Movie was better, Wyatt Earp or Tombstone. A Manager in one of the Sectors with Horse Patrol decided which as Art says was to belittle an Agent in the Patrol yet had an effect on the entire team. Art breaks down why this was a bad call and how it was corrected but also calls out this manager for having little knowledge of the Horse Patrol itself. Governor Ducey of Arizona has decided to fill gaps from the unfinished wall in Yuma with Shipping Crates while the Administration moves to plug these gaps as President Biden called for in July. July 02, 2022EPISODE 418 - Going CrocklessIn this week’s episode of The Green Line Radio Show, Art Del Cueto tells us how he went for the easy grade in school by taking Spanish but how he schooled the teacher. Art shares the tragic story out of Texas and the deaths of men woman and children that were left in the trailer of a truck to die that were smuggled into the United States. A Horrific situation that affects Agents and other law enforcement that responded to this. Art reminds us that the Border Patrol does so many rescues they are one of the largest humanitarian organizations in the world. Art last week was in Orlando at the AFGE representing the National Border Patrol Council and tells us about the differences between a Labor Union and Federal Union. We learn of an attempt to raise the dues by AFGE on those under it as a per capita increase, including NBPC and how this was not passed and possibly why. Art would like to still see the Agency support of Agents taking extra and advanced training for Self Defense. Other Law Enforcement agencies have done this, and it would be a great incentive for Agents with even a 50% reimbursement. With the Continuing larger numbers being dealt with, shifting from the Northern Border to the Southern Border has been on the upswing including Agents out of the Tucson Sector to other areas. Art met some great Agents and others from the NBPC at the AFGE meeting and shares respect and blessing to know them with deep appreciation.
