On December 12, 1910, the young New York socialite and aspiring writer vanished without a trace while shopping in Manhattan. Despite extensive searches and countless theories, to this day over a century later, her fate still remains unknown. Lake Lanier, officially known as Lake Sidney Lanier, is a reservoir in northern Georgia, USA. Its history is tied closely to the mid-20th-century development and the region's evolving needs for water management, recreation, and economic growth. This all sounds fine and dandy before you dive into the tragic history of this man made lake. Turns out there used to be a town where Lake Lanier now resides and the lake itself seems to claim more lives each year, with rumours that it is haunted by several different spirits.

And we agree, if any lake is haunted it's definitely going to be Lake Lanier.

Grace Budd was a ten-year-old girl who lived in New York City with her family. On May 25, 1928, they had the tragically bad luck of meeting Albert Fish, when he visited the Budd family home under the pretense of offering their son, Edward Budd, a job. After gaining the family's trust, Fish invited Grace to a supposed children's birthday party, promising to bring her back later that evening. Grace Budd would never be seen again.

It would be seven years before her family would see him arrested and sentenced to meet Old Sparky at Sing Sing Correctional Facility.

Albert Fish has been on our list to cover for a long time now, and fair warning—he's one of the absolute worst. Born Hamilton Howard Fish on May 19, 1870, in Washington, D.C., Albert had a deeply troubled early life marked by significant psychological and familial issues.

This old-timey "gentleman" was one of the most perverse and depraved individuals to walk the earth in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A sadomasochistic cannibal, his primary victim demographic was children under the age of six. What more is there to say? Well, a lot, as it turns out.

The "Easter Sunday Family Massacre" occurred on March 30, 1975, in Hamilton, Ohio, when James Urban Ruppert fatally shot 11 members of his family during a gathering. Among the victims were his mother, brother, sister-in-law, and eight nieces and nephews. Many who knew James were shocked by the senseless violence, unable to fathom that he could murder 11 family members in cold blood. However, there were significant tensions between James, his brother, and his mother. Unlike some cases where the reasons behind a person's actions remain unclear, James' life seemed marked by a profound sense of being unwanted, disliked, and deeply unhappy from an early age.

It's time again for another cryptid episode! This strange and unusual creature has been haunting the rural roads of Wisconsin and Michigan, more specifically, Elkhorn, Wisconsin, for the past one hundred years.

Descriptions of the creature typically depict it as an often bipedal, wolf-like or bear-like animal standing between 6 and 7 feet tall, with shaggy fur, pointed ears, and glowing eyes.

The Beast of Bray Road has become a popular subject of local folklore and has inspired numerous books, documentaries, and even films, making it a notable figure in American cryptid lore.

We will be exploring several stories of eyewitness accounts and the theories about what this critter might actually be.

In December 1957, seven-year-old Maria Ridulph vanished from her Sycamore, Illinois neighborhood while playing outside, sparking one of the nation's oldest cold cases. Despite initial suspects, the trail went cold until 2011, when new evidence led to the arrest of Jack McCullough (A.K.A. John Tessier), who was convicted in 2012. Yet, in a dramatic turn, McCullough's conviction was vacated in 2016 due to overlooked evidence, and he was released. The unresolved case of Maria Ridulph remains a haunting reminder of the complexities in seeking justice for long-standing mysteries.
