This week on Out of Left Field with Chris and Graham we discuss the apparent end of the barren and uneventful off-season landscape. Finally, pieces are moving and falling into place and some of those moves have been record-setting. Some of them have been surprising as well, such as Jay Bruce’s return to the New York Mets on a 3-year, $39 million contract that adds a decent bat and good defender to that struggling lineup. Also surprising, was the nearly unexpected trade of Pirates Ace Gerrit Cole to the Houston Astros, a move that will further strengthen an already strong and intimidating rotation and possibly make them the odds-on favorite to repeat at least as AL Champs. Andrew McCutchen was moved almost immediately after Cole, landing in San Francisco (which, of course, made Chris smile) which adds some power and dependability to their lineup and a top-quality defender to their outfield. Also, Josh Donaldson and Kris Bryant sign record-setting arbitration deals and we bid farewell to a player who should have been far greater and more widely recognized than he ended up being. On this episode of Go B1G or Go Home, Kevin and Troy recap the Top 25 in men’s basketball for the week of Jan. 15 and aside from Purdue (No. 3) and Michigan State (No. 9), two newcomers from the conference made its way in. Currently, Ohio State ranks at No. 22 and Michigan is No. 23. Does that mean anything in mid-January, since all that matters is the NCAA tournament in mid-March?

After talking about rankings, the youngster and old man go through the Big Ten standings essentially six games into conference play and Ohio State is still surprising people with its 6-0 record to start. Purdue looks dominant to this point and are they the new frontrunner and juggernaut of the Big Ten or is Michigan State still the team with the most potential?

Kevin and Troy talk about that, if Minnesota and Northwestern are in trouble because of their poor starts and each of the other teams to this point in the season.

As a teenager, Serratelli trained in the same gym with Arturo Gatti and partied with him in Jersey and New York. His circle of friends as an adult includes Paulie Malignaggi, Harold Lederman, Steve Weisfeld, Chuck Wepner, and Steve Smoger, among others. As a professional, he is known as "The Fight Lawyer," an attorney who has defended and/or advised many in the East Coast boxing world.
