  • 29 Cosmetic Acupuncture With Sarah Bradden

This episode sees not one, but TWO Guinea Pigs, as Maryam decides to join Fiona in testing-out cosmetic acupuncture with acupuncturist, Sarah Bradden.

As well as talking to Sarah about the fascinating story of how she decided to apply the art of acupuncture to help aesthetics, we also hear what Maryam and Fiona thought about their treatments and after-effects.

There's also an insight into the science behind the treatments and when it can be used instead of - or to compliment the kinds of treatments more typically found in Maryam's clinic.

It's a completely fresh approach to anyone either considering a tweakment - or even just a facial - and a fascinating insight to another form of medicine.

  • 28 New Year, New Vitality

It's a new decade and where else can you find Fiona after the Christmas break? Why, back in the clinic with Maryam of course!

Like most of us post holidays, Fiona has been feeling rather lack-lustre and in need of a pick-up on the INSIDE for a change.

So before coming to see Maryam, she dropped-in to see Naturopathic Doctor, Katrin Hemple at Skin Matters in Holland Park to ask about getting a vitamin infusion.

As well as discussing what went on with Katrin with Maryam (and if it worked) we also hear what vitamins can be used for the various aliments many of us suffer from during the winter months - which ones to trust - AND we also hear which beauty resolutions our dynamic duo have in place for 2020 - and beyond.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  • 26 Cleft Lip & Palate: Joanna's Journey

This episode of The Guinea Pig is both uplifting and emotional for everyone involved, as Joanna shares her journey with us of her cleft lip and palate correction & why she felt the time was right to come to the clinic to see Maryam.

We hear what happened during Joanna's consultancy, treatments Maryam has made to her lip and nose and what will happen next.

This is an emotional episode for Maryam too, as we discover that working with the charity 'Smile' during her medical training made her realise that oculoplastic surgery would be her calling.

  • 25 What Works & What Doesn't - with Alice Hart-Davis

We're back in the clinic and today Maryam and Fiona are joined by journalist & writer Alice Hart-Davis who has spent the last 20 years trialling and writing about the latest tweakments - and being honest about the results.

As The Guinea Pig is about being honest about the procedures being tried and talked about, it seemed only fitting to have Alice come in for a chat. Be prepared from some candid views on everything from skincare to fat freezing and some of the conversations may make you think twice before booking that appointment.

  • 24 White Teeth & A Healthy Smile....

There's plenty to get your teeth into in this week's episode, as Maryam and Fiona are joined in the clinic by dental therapist with Dawood & Tanner, Tannaz Joorabchian.

Maybe you thought you knew enough about keeping your mouth healthy and teeth in good condition, but perhaps you don't know that brushing after breakfast is disastrous for keeping hold of your teeth? Or that some types of fruit are just as bad as smearing your gnashers in diet coke? This episode really is an education and there's plenty of advice on whitening too...

  • 23 Alexandra Shulman's Beauty Essentials

In this episode, former Editor-In-Chief of Vogue magazine, Alexandra Shulman dropped into the clinic - an environment rather unfamiliar to her - to show Maryam and Fiona the results of her recent collaboration with Boots No7 range.

Although Alex loves all things make-up and beauty, she's always resisted ANY kind of procedure invasive or noninvasive and would rather be doing practically anything else with her time. Alex, Maryam and Fiona chat about body image and if the world of magazines are to blame for playing a part in the upsurge of tweekments, why Alex has never wanted to get anything done herself when everyone around her is, make-up must haves and the top three beauty essentials she can't live without.

Oh and we also find out there was almost a world wide mascara shortage!

  • 22 Face Gym with Inge Theron

We're back in the clinic with Maryam and Fiona and this week the focus is on facial exercises and how they may be a great alternative to invasive procedures. Inge Theron is the founder of Face Gym and popped into the clinic to talk about the benefits of facial workout, plus Fiona gives her verdict on a recent visit to a Face Gym. The trio also talk about facial workout gadgets which can be used in the home and what (if any) benefits there may be from this practice.

It's a fascinating look at an alternative way of refreshing tired faces, boosting collagen and bringing vitality back to the appearance.

As always we're in the clinic, but in this episode Fiona brings friend Jayne in to talk to Maryam about the possibility of having excess skin around the eyes removed, as she believes it to age her face.

As always Dr Maryam goes though the different procedures available, the effectiveness and what risks could be involved.

Will Jayne decide to go for a procedure, or will the frank consultation put her off?

And also we find out once and for all, how and when to put on eye cream.
