Welcome to Episode 54 of The Halving Report Podcast! There about 900 days left until the next Bitcoin halving, which should occur early in 2024. The price is BTC is about $57,000.00 USD at the time of the recording. Reported annual inflation rates in North America are at decades high while BTC inflation rate is pre-programmed to be at 1.76% during this halving cycle.

Today we welcome back Douglas Tuman to the show. Doug hosts Monero Talk and a live interactive live show called "Monerotopia".

"Monero is a decentralized cryptocurrency. It uses a public distributed ledger with privacy-enhancing technologies that obfuscate transactions to achieve anonymity and fungibility. Observers cannot decipher addresses trading monero, transaction amounts, address balances, or transaction histories." (Wikipedia, 2021) 

Doug has interviewed many popular figures in the Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency space including Peter McCormack, Roger Ver, Andreas Antonopolous, and many more. In 2020, he ran for office for New York's 4th Congressional District. Doug upholds the anonymity ideals of cryptocurrency, and spends his time promoting and building up the Monero commerce ecosystem.

Bitcoin has experienced its 3rd block reward halving on May 11th 2020, and we’ve been experiencing an explosion of bitcoin and cryptocurrency prices ever since. There are still well over a 1000 days until we see Bitcoin halve again sometime in 2024. As of Saturday March 20th, 1 bitcoin sells for about $60,000.00 USD, or approximately $74,000.00 CAD.
