  • Do You Actually Have ADHD? A Psychiatrist Shows You How to Know

📌 Is it ADHD? Get the free Before-Your-Evaluation Guide: https://go.enhancepsych.com/adhd-guide?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=adhd-guide

A lot of people think they have ADHD. Some do, some don't, and getting it wrong can send you down the wrong treatment path for years. ADHD can look exactly like anxiety, burnout, depression, or poor sleep, which is why smart, successful people get missed for years.

In this video, I'm going to walk you through the four filters I use to actually diagnose ADHD, in kids and adults, so you can tell the difference between real ADHD and something else wearing its mask.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 Do You Actually Have ADHD? A Psychiatrist Shows You How to Know
0:45 Filter 1, is it costing you
1:46 Filter 2, does it show up everywhere
2:57 Why hyperfocus does not rule out ADHD
4:19 Why adults get missed until later in life
5:44 My own ADHD story as a psychiatrist
6:28 The missed kid, inattentive type and girls
7:55 Filter 4, ruling out anxiety, depression, burnout, sleep
10:13 How evaluations actually work, scales and testing
12:21 Three things to do before any evaluation

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED
How do I know if I actually have ADHD or just anxiety?
ADHD symptoms are present since childhood and show up across multiple settings like work, home, and relationships. Anxiety or burnout driven attention problems usually have a clear starting point tied to stress, poor sleep, or a major life change.

Can you have ADHD and still be successful or smart?
Yes, intelligence and attention are not the same thing, and many successful people compensate for undiagnosed ADHD for years using deadlines, pressure, and workarounds. Being high functioning does not rule out ADHD, it often just hides it longer.

Does ADHD look different in girls than boys?
Girls more often present with the inattentive type, quietly daydreaming or losing track of instructions rather than being hyperactive or disruptive. This quieter pattern means girls are frequently identified much later than boys or missed entirely.

Exhausted all day, then wide awake the second your head hits the pillow. If that's you, the real problem is not happening at bedtime, which is exactly where everyone tries to fix it. Sleep is the first thing I address with almost every patient, before medication, before anything else, because mood, focus, cravings, energy, and weight all sit downstream of it.

In this episode, I'm going to break down why your body clock, blood sugar, and nervous system might be sabotaging your sleep, and give you a step by step wind down system that actually works.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 Exhausted All Day and Wide Awake at Night? Watch This

7:11 The biggest sleep mistake, treating sleep like a switch
8:00 The 30 minute wind down system before bed
9:02 Why a hot shower actually cools your body for sleep
13:30 Supplements, sleep studies, and when to see a doctor
16:40 Putting the whole sleep system together

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Why do I feel exhausted all day but wide awake at night?
This usually means your body clock is getting mixed signals from light exposure, not that you have insomnia. Weak morning light and bright evening light push your melatonin release later, so your energy peaks when you should be winding down.

Why do I wake up at 3am wide awake with my heart racing?
This is often a blood sugar drop overnight that triggers cortisol and adrenaline, not pure anxiety. A small protein snack an hour before bed can often resolve it within days.

What is the biggest mistake people make trying to fall asleep?
Treating sleep like a switch instead of a descent. Your brain needs a 30 minute wind down period with dimmed lights and a calming routine before it can actually power down.

  • Psychiatrist EXPOSES Why You Keep Getting Anxiety Meds Instead of Answers

📌 Learn more about integrative psychiatric care at https://www.enhancepsych.com

If every answer to your anxiety is just another prescription, you probably need a new doctor. That's coming from a psychiatrist who prescribes anxiety medication every day. Medication can help, but if nobody is asking why you're anxious or why your last three treatments didn't work, someone is missing the bigger picture.

In this episode, I'm going to break down why fragmented care keeps people stuck on medication without answers, and what a truly coordinated psychiatric treatment plan looks like instead.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 Psychiatrist EXPOSES Why You Keep Getting Anxiety Meds Instead of Answers
0:45 The case that exposed fragmented care
2:33 How one problem turns into five
4:07 What we do differently at Enhance Psych
5:33 Why medicine is divided into silos
7:06 When I look outside psychiatry for answers
8:31 Why more treatments isn't always better
9:22 The truth about SSRIs and side effects
11:43 Why concierge care means integration
14:00 Reopening the case before prescription four

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Why do I keep getting new anxiety medications instead of real answers?
Because most healthcare systems are divided into silos where each provider only looks at their own piece of the puzzle. Nobody is coordinating the whole picture, so the easiest response becomes another prescription.

What should happen before starting a fourth or fifth anxiety medication?
A good psychiatrist should reopen the whole case and ask what actually improved, what got worse, and which symptoms only appeared after treatment started. Sometimes the diagnosis needs to change or another medical issue is driving the anxiety.

Are SSRIs always the right first choice for anxiety?
SSRIs are considered low risk and are often prescribed first, but they are not automatically the right medication for every person. Side effects and treatment failures are common, which is why a broader workup matters.

  • 4 Surprising Reasons Your GLP-1 Stopped Working (And What to Do About It)

📌 Learn more about integrative psychiatric care at https://www.enhancepsych.com

Your weight stopped moving and it is almost never the dose. If you are on a GLP-1 and hit a wall, there are four reasons this happens, and most people never hear about three of them. I prescribe these medications to hundreds of patients and I have been on one myself, so I know exactly what that plateau feels like.

In this episode, I'm going to break down the four real reasons your GLP-1 progress stalls and walk you through exactly what to do about each one.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 4 Surprising Reasons Your GLP-1 Stopped Working (And What to Do About It)
0:25 Is it actually a stall or just noise
0:54 Reason 1, losing muscle instead of fat
1:38 Protein and resistance training fix
1:56 Reason 2, sleep canceling out the medication
2:39 How stress blocks fat loss
3:22 Reason 3, an untreated root cause
4:00 Reason 4, another prescription working against you
4:32 How to know it is time for a real conversation
4:44 Questions to bring to your next appointment

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Why did my GLP-1 stop working even though I did not change anything?
It is rarely the dose. The most common causes are losing muscle instead of fat, poor sleep raising cortisol, an untreated root issue like insulin resistance, or another medication working against the GLP-1.

How long should I wait before calling a plateau real?
Two weeks of no movement is normal noise. If the scale has been flat for six weeks or more with no changes in how your clothes fit, it is worth investigating.

Can other medications cancel out a GLP-1?
Yes. Many medications prescribed for mood, sleep, or anxiety can drive weight gain, and if the two prescribers are not looking at the same full picture, this can go unnoticed for months.

  • How to Fix Your Sleep Tonight: A Psychiatrist's 5-Step System

📌 Learn more about integrative psychiatric care at https://www.enhancepsych.com

You do not have insomnia. You have a light scheduling problem, a blood sugar problem, or a nervous system stuck in overdrive. If you have tried melatonin, sleep podcasts, and putting your phone away and still wake up exhausted, the real fix is deeper than any of those tricks.

In this episode, I'm going to walk you through my five step system for fixing your sleep tonight, the same framework I use with my own patients and in my own life.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 How to Fix Your Sleep Tonight: A Psychiatrist's 5-Step System
0:57 Why your light exposure is backwards
2:45 Fixing your circadian rhythm with morning light
4:15 Why blood sugar wakes you at 3am
6:35 The alcohol and sleep connection nobody wants to hear
9:59 When it's not insomnia, it's sleep apnea
10:41 Why your nervous system won't shut down
14:07 Yoga nidra and non sleep deep rest explained
17:12 The two rules for a healthy sleep association
20:08 Building your 30 minute sleep runway tonight

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

What causes waking up at 3am every night?
Waking between 2 and 4 a.m. is often caused by a drop in blood sugar overnight, which triggers cortisol and adrenaline release that jolts you awake. It can also be caused by alcohol, which sedates you at first but creates rebound arousal a few hours later.

How can I stop my mind from racing at bedtime?
A racing mind at bedtime usually means your nervous system is stuck in fight or flight mode rather than a lack of sleepiness. Practices like yoga nidra or box breathing help shift your body into a parasympathetic, rest and digest state so sleep can actually happen.

What is yoga nidra and does it help with sleep?
Yoga nidra, also called non sleep deep rest, is a guided lying down practice that lowers physiological arousal and improves heart rate variability and sleep quality. It is not a replacement for sleep, but it can quickly calm a wired nervous system before bed.

You can't focus. You're exhausted. You feel overwhelmed by things that used to be easy. So you take a quiz online and decide it must be ADHD, or depression, or burnout. Here's the problem. You might be right about one, but treating the wrong one can keep you stuck for years.

In this episode, I'm going to give you a clear framework to tell ADHD, burnout, and depression apart so you can stop guessing and start getting the right help.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 Why these three conditions wear the same mask
0:57 The overlapping symptoms that fool everyone
1:50 The one question most providers never ask
3:18 The recovery test that reveals the truth
5:12 Why the wrong treatment makes things worse
6:35 Stop stacking treatments without a real diagnosis
6:56 Map your pattern before your next appointment
7:25 Four things to write down tonight
8:01 You are not lazy, weak, or beyond help

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Q: How can I tell if I have ADHD, burnout, or depression?
A: Look at when symptoms started and how you respond to rest. ADHD has been present since childhood and does not improve with rest, burnout has a clear onset and improves with real recovery time, and depression often gets worse with rest and isolation.

Q: Does rest help with burnout but not ADHD?
A: Yes. With burnout, a real break from stress usually restores focus and energy, while ADHD symptoms persist even after complete rest because they stem from how the brain regulates attention and dopamine.

Q: What happens if I get the wrong diagnosis for ADHD, burnout, or depression?
A: The wrong treatment can mask the real problem or make it worse, such as giving stimulants for burnout or therapy alone for undiagnosed ADHD, leading to more frustration and self blame.

📌 Learn more about integrative psychiatric care at https://www.enhancepsych.com

Have you ever sat in a room where nothing is wrong, yet your chest is tight and your brain will not stop spinning? Someone tells you to just relax and it makes everything worse. If it were that simple, you would have already fixed it. Anxiety that shows up without a clear trigger usually has a physical root, not just a mental one, and most people never get told what it actually is.

In this video, I'm going to break down five hidden reasons your anxiety will not go away, reasons that have nothing to do with your mindset or willpower.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 Why You're Anxious for “No Reason” (A Psychiatrist Explains What's Really Going On)
1:11 Your nervous system stuck in survival mode
2:26 Why high performers get dismissed as "just stressed"
    2:56 Hormones hijacking your mood
4:31 The hormone and psychiatry disconnect no one checks
7:03 Poor sleep quietly destroying your resilience
9:03 How to tell if sleep is driving your anxiety
9:12 Metabolism messing with your mind
10:20 Fragmented care versus a real plan
11:15 How to map your own anxiety pattern tonight

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Why do I feel anxious even when nothing is wrong?
This usually means your nervous system is stuck in survival mode after chronic stress, so your body reacts as if a threat is nearby even when you are safe. Over time this pattern becomes automatic, which is why anxiety can feel like it comes out of nowhere.

Can hormones cause anxiety that feels random?
Yes, shifting estrogen, progesterone, and cortisol levels directly affect brain chemicals that regulate mood, sleep, and calm, which can create anxiety that seems to appear out of nowhere. This is especially common in women during perimenopause or times of hormonal transition.

Does poor sleep make anxiety worse?
Poor sleep makes your brain's fear center more reactive while weakening the part that regulates emotions, which creates a cycle where anxiety and bad sleep feed each other. Fixing sleep is often one of the fastest ways to lower baseline anxiety.

  • Psychiatrist Warns: Avoid These Mistakes If You’re Tired, Foggy & Anxious

📌 Learn more about integrative psychiatric care at https://www.enhancepsych.com

If your labs keep coming back normal but you still feel exhausted, foggy, and anxious, you are not broken. There is a good chance the system you have been relying on was never built to actually make you well. Most people spend years bouncing between providers who never look at the full picture.

In this video, I'm going to walk you through the five brain and body truths I wish every patient understood, based on years of treating thousands of patients.

    ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS
0:00 Psychiatrist Warns: Avoid These Mistakes If You’re Tired, Foggy & Anxious
0:36 Meet Dr. Raj, double board certified psychiatrist
1:35 Your brain and body are one system
2:16 Why normal lab results can still mean something is wrong
3:39 The real problem with fragmented healthcare
3:58 Why you cannot think your way out of a body problem
4:48 Three questions to ask about your own health
5:19 Why precision beats more medications and supplements
6:57 Why real healing lives in the middle, not the extremes
8:09 One question to write down tonight

    ❓ QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Why do my labs come back normal when I still feel terrible?
Normal lab ranges only show where you fall compared to population averages, not whether your brain and body are actually thriving. Many real issues like hormone imbalances, insulin resistance, nutrient deficiencies, and pharmacogenomic mismatches never show up on a standard panel.

Why isn't therapy or medication alone fixing my anxiety or brain fog?
When sleep, metabolism, hormones, or your nervous system are out of balance, no amount of talk therapy or willpower can fully resolve what you are feeling. The body often has to come online before the mind can fully respond to mental health treatment.

Do I need more supplements or medications to feel better?
Usually not. Precision beats volume, and the answer is almost always to understand your specific biology through testing rather than stacking more interventions without a clear strategy.
