The Harbor

Uncompromising Relevance - To honor God and inspire people, the Church should pursue excellence and be culturally relevant while remaining biblically faithful and doctrinally pure.

In order to connect with people and share with them the Good News of Jesus Christ, we must meet them right where they are with uncompromising relevance and excellence. Watch/listen to this message by Senior Pastor Jeff Maness to see what this can look like in our lives.

Serving Matters - Followers of Jesus should serve in areas that use their God-given gifts to strengthen and build up the Church and others.

To follow Christ is to live a life of serving, because serving matters. Serving is not something you sign up to do once in a while; it's a lifestyle. How do I live a serving matters life? I must be willing to pour, be waiting for provision, and be watching for purpose. Watch/listen to this message to see what this means and how to apply it in your life.

Bold Faith - Healthy followers of Jesus boldly live out their faith with passion and conviction, marked by grace and truth.

We have read stories in the Bible about the early Christians living out their faith in Christ, even when they were threatened with death if they didn't stop talking about Jesus. We've seen video about modern day Christians in other areas of the world who are beaten and killed for their faith. But it's one thing to see others have bold faith, it is quite another to live it out yourself. In this message Senior Pastor Jeff Maness asks, "What does it take to have bold faith?"

Core Value #2 - Come As You Are: God wants every person to come as they are to Him and His Church, where they can find forgiveness, eternal life, and life to the full through Jesus.

God wants us to come as we are, but He loves us too much to leave us that way. Just because God receives us as we are does not mean there isn’t a standard that He calls us to live out. "Come As You Are" is not an excuse to stay who have been. It’s also not an excuse to reject people who are not living up to it, because God loves everyone unconditionally, as should we. Watch to see how if we believe in the right things but respond to people in the wrong way, then what we believe won’t matter.

Core Value #1 - Prayer is Our Priority: The work of the Church is first and foremost prayer, by which all other work is led, empowered, and supported.

There is no such thing as a healthy, thriving, Christ following, God honoring church, if that church is not focused on and driven by prayer. This is why prayer is our first Core Value at The Harbor. Why is prayer so important? To see, watch/listen to this message, the first of the series called simply CORE.

People may not say it to us, but they are evaluating whether our faith is genuine by watching how we live our lives. The only way they can truly tell if our faith is real is not by our words, because words can be empty, but by our actions. If we truly believe that what we say we believe is really real, then our lives will reflect it. So the question is, are we living a life that is worthy of the Gospel?

In God's Word, we are commanded to pray for all people, no matter if we like them, or disagree with them, or what. All people, especially those in authority over us: our local police, the mayor, the governor, and the President of the United States, whether you voted for them or not. The command does not change depending on who is leading. That might be distasteful or difficult, but we must do it. So how do we pray and what do we pray for all of those in authority over us? Watch as Senior Pastor Jeff Maness explains.

Many Christians believe we have an obligation, not only to our country but to God, to vote certain ways and support certain candidates or policies. As followers of Christ do we have a political obligation to our faith and to our country, and if so, what is it? Watch/listen to this message to discover the unchanging obligation we have to the Kingdom of God as we live in this kingdom called America.

What is the Church's position in this present political climate? Are God's people to be on the left or the right, or somewhere in the middle? How do we contend with those of a different viewpoint or party than our own? If there was ever a time to ask WWJD (What would Jesus do?) this is it. Watch this supercharged first message of the Undivided Kingdom series by Senior Pastor Jeff Maness to see our political options in a new light.

In part 2 of the message entitled The Prayer of Jesus, Senior Pastor Jeff Maness tells us about "The #1 Prayer of Jesus". In part 1, we learned that hours before His excruciating death on the cross, at a time when every word counted, Jesus prayed for the protection, purity (holiness), and purpose of those who were following Him and anyone who would ever follow Him. But more important than those things, what do you think the most important prayer that Jesus prayed for His people is? Watch/listen to find out!
