October 30, 2023Blessed: Satisfy the CraveWe all have cravings from time to time, and we try to appease those cravings (within reason). But even following our most heartfelt longing doesn't really leave us feeling satisfied. It is only in seeking God's righteousness will that we can be filled and truly, deeply satisfied. In this message we talk about the fourth Beatitude: "God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice (righteousness), for they will be satisfied." —(Matthew 5:6). Watch as Pastor Jeff Maness teaches what it looks like to seek after righteousness, and the benefits that come from this journey.Jeff's notes are here: https://notes.subsplash.com/fill-in/view?page=SJfu34OzT______________________________________________________________________________Subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!...more35minPlay
October 23, 2023Blessed: Meant to be MeekBlessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. -- Matthew 5:5 (NKJV)Meekness is generally equated with weakness, but it means quite the opposite. Meekness is power under control. Being meek is not the same as being weak; it is demonstrating God’s power under control. At any time on the way to the cross, or even from the cross, Jesus could have used His power to call down legions of angels to defend him. But He didn't. This is meekness. It took unimaginable strength to take the punishment for our sins when He, Himself, was completely innocent.Watch this message, "Meant to be Meek", to see what it looks like to be meek in this world. After you do, you may ask God to show you these three things:🔹 Where in my life do I need to be clothed in humility?🔹 What worry or care in my life do I need to cast upon You?🔹 What part of my life do I need to let go of in order to follow You?Jeff's notes are here: https://notes.subsplash.com/fill-in/view?page=H18o8WAbp_______________________________________________________________________Subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!...more33minPlay
October 16, 2023Blessed: Blessed in Our MourningThe second Beatitude in Jesus' Sermon on the Mount is: "God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4 NLT) The Greek word for mourn here is Penthéō, and it means, "To grieve over a death; to grieve over a personal hope that dies. A manifested grief so severe it takes possession of a person and cannot be hid." Have you felt this way? Are you grieving now? In this message, Senior Pastor Jeff Maness teaches that God doesn’t always stop what causes our mourning, but He does always want to comfort us in it. Watch and see the ways God comforts us in our mourning, and find out why He doesn't just fix the cause of it.Jeff's notes are here: https://notes.subsplash.com/fill-in/view?page=SJHhLDB-T_______________________________________________________________Like and subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!...more36minPlay
October 08, 2023Blessed: Blessed with PovertyEveryone wants to be happy. Everyone wants to be blessed. Jesus presented some values that describe a life that is blessed. The problem is, these values are not of this world. They are upside down and backwards. In this series we’re going to walk through eight values Jesus taught called “The Beatitudes”. These eight values lay out the pathway for those who desire to live "ᗡƎSSƎ⅂ꓭ.” At the beginning of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus gives us the most important point first, that we are to be poor in spirit. In this message Senior Pastor Jeff Maness explains what it means to be "poor in spirit" and gives us ways to examine ourselves to see if we possess the poverty required to gain the Kingdom of Heaven.“God blesses those who are poor in spirit and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.” —Matthew 5:3Jeff's notes are here: https://notes.subsplash.com/fill-in/view?page=SJk9_SJZ6Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!...more32minPlay
October 02, 2023We're in this Together, Part 2: Live NakedWe generally like for people to know as little about us as possible. We are afraid to admit our doubts, our fears, our worries, and our sins. We are afraid to live naked. But that is the opposite of what God has for us. He wants us to live naked so we can experience His love and hope and peace. In Part 1 of the mini-series We're All in this Together, Pastor Ryan Akers taught that, "We were meant to live in community with other believers, all learning, doing, and sharing together as disciples of Jesus." In Part 2, we learn that part of living together in Christian community is being open with one another and with God, not hiding our doubts, frustrations, or fears, confessing our weaknesses and sins to one another and to God. Watch this message to learn more about confession and how it will set you free!Ryan's notes are here: https://notes.subsplash.com/fill-in/view?page=Skrts6n16 _______________________________________________________________Subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!...more33minPlay
September 25, 2023We're in this Together, Part 1: Live in CommunityHave you ever wondered what the perfect church would look like? Acts 2:42-47 describes the Church (big C) as it was when it first started. "All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer." Everyone lived in community, sharing everything they had, taking care of one another's needs, worshiping every day, and living with great joy, generosity, and gratitude. "And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved." We were meant to live in community with other believers, all learning, doing, and sharing together as disciples of Jesus. But there are things that stand in the way of this. Listen to this message by Discipleship Pastor Ryan Akers to learn what true discipleship is, what the obstacles to it are, and how we can overcome them.Ryan's notes are here: https://notes.subsplash.com/fill-in/view?page=Sy-Jr23Jp _____________________________________________________________Subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!...more28minPlay
September 18, 2023Laughing at GodSarah laughed at God when He said she was going to have a baby. Certainly she was too old! The Prodigal Son decided to go back to his father in the capacity of a slave. Certainly he had made too many mistakes and was too full of shame to be restored as a son! Zacchaeus was a notorious sinner who just wanted to get a peak at Jesus, but Jesus wanted to go to his house for dinner. Certainly Zacchaeus was too rich and set in his evil ways for God to turn him around and use him. It's never too late to turn to God. You are never too young or too old, too full of sin or shame, too weak or downcast, or too far gone for God to fill you up with His love and turn you into a new creation. God wants to give you a full and abundant life and to use you to touch the lives of others with His overflowing love. September 11, 2023Everything is Meaningless: The Meaning of LifeThroughout all of history people have asked this one big question: What is the meaning of life? In this series we have learned about finding meaning in many different aspects of life such as relationships, community, and money. But this message wraps it all up and gives you the overall BIG picture, THE reason we are here on this earth, and the answer can be found in the last words of Ecclesiastes, a book written by the wisest man to ever life, King Solomon.Jeff's notes are here: https://notes.subsplash.com/fill-in/view?page=HJ_VG4UCn_________________________________________________________________________Subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Like and subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!...more34minPlay
September 04, 2023Everything is Meaningless: The Rest of My LifeLife is short...very short. The Bible has many, many verses that talk about the brevity of our lives, like Psalm 39:4-5:LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered — how fleeting my life is. You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath. So how should we engage in life in the short time we are allotted here on Earth? Listen to "The Rest of My Life" to see, and then ask yourself these questions:What plans in my life do I need to surrender to the unknown? What areas of my life are keeping me from living with a sense of urgency? What parts of my life do I need to submit to God's understanding? August 28, 2023Everything is Meaningless: Meaning in MoneyKing Solomon, who wrote the book we are studying in this series, Ecclesiastes, was most likely the wealthiest man to ever live. He had it all. Everything money could buy, he had it. And yet he writes this in Ecclesiastes 5:10-11, 15:“Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness! The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what good is wealth—except perhaps to watch it slip through your fingers!…We all come to the end of our lives as naked and empty-handed as on the day we were born. We can’t take our riches with us."There is nothing inherently wrong with money. There's nothing wrong with even having lots of money. The problem is when money has us, when we long for it and believe that it can provide us with happiness and meaning. But while money can never provide me with meaning, I can find a meaning in money. Listen to this message, "Meaning in Money", to find out how.Jeff's notes are here: https://notes.subsplash.com/fill-in/view?page=L0LZUteOTOV_________________________________________________________________________Like and subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Christian Copyright Solutions (CCS, BMI, ASCAP, SESAC)License: #14753Like and subscribe so you don't miss a thing!Find us on:YouTube: YouTube.com/TheHarborInstagram: Instagram.com/TheHarbor_lifeFacebook: Facebook.com/TheHarbordotlifeWebsite: https://www.TheHarbor.lifeWatch/listen on The Harbor AppNew episode every week!...more38minPlay
