This week on the BOX...
DJ talks about his major fashion emergency / meltdown / acceptance / resolution incident from over the weekend. He discusses what it's like being too fat for absolutely ALL of the nice clothes he has, sucking up the embarrassment when you decide to just press on, and how borderline panic-attack he was last-minute-shopping at Macy's when they didn't have anything he could wear anyway.
He talks about what it's like trying to be a "manly" father to a daughter, how annoying it must get when everyone knows what your "thing" is and sends you every "thing"-related piece of everything and the anxiety that comes with trimming a Spotify playlist that no one even cares about but him!
Next week's "Best of the Box", Andy says women need to "own their farts", will Jimmy G. actually perform in 5 sets Thanksgiving Eve and MORE!
This ain't your mom's lunchbox.
Music from Jackknife Stiletto, Vaeda, Crash Transit, REVEL 9, Protest The Hero, Jimmy's Blue Notebook, Nothing More, Craving Strange, Coheed and Cambria and MORE!

This week on the BOX... If it POPS in the BOX and no one is there to hear it, is it still POPPIN'???
Of course it is! DJ talks only 1 "politics" today, just to say that he's watching FoxNews at the gym, but shies away from anything else political today. Instead, he's focused on the gym and how he's mentally able to maintain the effort this time but also why taking the weekend's off are so important.
He talks about Kaz's new solo record... again, but sticks to the questions regarding the liner notes - he wonders if he has to thank his Sweetwater rep on the next REVEL 9 record, what the cutoff for thank you's and mentions is going to be this time out in general, and praises Jimmy G. for his classic gratitude for the anonymous!
DJ's gym shirt smells... a lot, Andy has some Award-Winning "Learning" today, Taking Back Sunday in the LI Music Hall of Fame and MORE!
This ain't your mom's lunchbox.
Music from Coheed & Cambria, Taking Back Sunday, Jackknife Stiletto, Maybe Later, Approaching Troy, Dance Gavin Dance, Older Than Oceans, Of Mice and Men, Tickle Me Pink, Craving Strange and MORE!

This week on the BOX... It's quiet in here...
DJ talks politics and chases everyone out of the chatroom. Then he talks about his pending blood test results just to ensure no one comes back!
He talks about Kaz's new solo record, and just how hard, and important, it is to be able to "breathe" musically and creatively while in such a busy "main" project, annnnnd how to a record properly - and what HE thinks that actually means. He also applauds Jimmy G. for his total commitment to any and all Halloween costumes, especially this years and he has all kinds of facebook trouble today, and walks us all through it, unfortunately.
DJ takes a huge hit with the upcoming R9 record, "Higher Learning" returns - thank goodness, the Queen Movie and MORE!
This ain't your mom's lunchbox.
Music from KAZ, Last Turn Off Broadway, Older Than Oceans, Jackknife Stiletto, SECRETS, Dino Skatepark, Unwritten Law, Craving Strange and MORE!

This week on the BOX... Annie Stoic from Jackknife Stiletto is IN THE BOX! But first...
DJ talks about seeing Benson at the gym, what a good record Chevelle's "Vena Sera" is and how much it made him become a better songwriter. He also discusses why "travel size" musicians are the best.
He talks with Annie about her BRAND NEW RECORD "The Chronicles of Jane: Volume 2", what it's like to be a Blackheart - sorta, and if "Jane" is an actual super hero? a wrestling heroine? or just the worst villain ever? They talk promotion, the future for the band and what to definitely NOT yell out to performing female artists.
Annie's big show with Joan Jett, Andy clears up why they are called "junkies", DJ's contempt for bands that just don't do the job and MORE!
This ain't your mom's lunchbox.
Music from Jackknife Stiletto, SECRETS, Protest The Hero, Once Around, Deaf Autumn, Danger Club, Deaf Havana and MORE!

This week on the BOX... It's the BABY SHARK TAKEOVER of the Hard Rock Lunch Box ...kinda.
DJ veers off politics this to get back to his true calling - complaining about people at the gym. He points out that you can't be "BEAST" mode if you're at the little league of gyms. Also, stop sweating on the gear. You're disgusting.
He talks about the generic selfishness of people, how musical influences are all around us and how a good song is a good song no matter what ...UNLESS you perform and/or record it so badly that not even scientists from Japan with all the latest radar could find the "good song" buried in your avalanche of garbage. Also, how come bands don't wanna work with R9?
KAZ is finally promoting something (no it's not REVEL 9), Andy is playing with his trains, DJ's new idea for ReverbNation submissions and MORE!
This ain't your mom's lunchbox.
Music from Red Handed Denial, Older Than Oceans, Action/Adventure, Vaeda, Fall Out Boy, LTOB, Silence The Sun, Professor and the Madman, A Skylit Drive, Craving Strange and MORE!

This week on the BOX... DJ somehow manages to talk about politics, again.
Even though he doesn't want to, he talks more politics, kinda. He rails against actual "fake news" and takes on people who only believe what they want to believe. And he's really wound up by people that refer to him as "typical" anything and the (in)effectiveness of the far-left crying and screeching.
He talks about recent discussions regarding "why people won't listen to new music", why art is just so damn important and he gets into the true "magic" that happens at the LI Rock:Unplugged shows and why they are still worth the effort, even now in its fifth year.
How awful most local original music is, Andy on the train again, Craving Strange's new drummer and MORE!
This ain't your mom's lunchbox.
Music from Protest the Hero, Fear the Masses, Vaeda, Approaching Troy, Maybe Later, Pathmaker, Real Friends, BALLYHOO!, End of an Era, Craving Strange and MORE!

This week on the BOX... DJ is back in the gym!
DJ talks about how hard it's been lately to make "simple changes" and wonders if maybe bigger and more disruptive alterations are the way to go. He says he's tired of seeing pictures of himself and hearing himself "breathe" but there's no way he can just make himself "do a few pushups", ever, let alone a few times per day, so on to the gym it is.
Since there's nothing but colorful people at the gym with him, DJ has no shortage of stories for you, and he's only TWO days in. He tells the ladies what kind of pants to NOT wear, wonders why trainers are fatter than the clients and is simply blown away by "Black Artie".
Why cats are a-holes, how to get a pig, Andy is at the DMV, next week's LI Rock: Unplugged and MORE!
This ain't your mom's lunchbox.
Music from Secrets, Vaeda, Brand New, All New Episode, I See Stars, Last Turn Off Broadway, Deftones, Craving Strange and MORE!

This week on the BOX... it's all about The Paramount, baby!
DJ talks about last night's REVEL 9 show at The Paramount! He talks almost constantly about it and STILL didn't get to everything! He tries to address how they got the gig, how it went over and what's next but ends up talking more about the business of doing a show like that and all the puzzle pieces involved that even his band doesn't seem to know about, but yet still have to get put into place.
He also talks about the bashing he's seeing online of Stephen Pearcy's performance, and DJ wonders if he'll know when it's time to "exit gracefully", And he discusses hanging with Brian from Envy on the Coast and how he said he'd definitely play with EotC for free, but he might have to "fan-girl" over it a little bit (ugh.. so embarrassing.. lol).
The importance of high thread count in sheets, Andy talking to himself on the train, how good Sweet Tooth's "Let Me In" is and MORE!
This ain't your mom's lunchbox.
Music from Envy on the Coast, REVEL 9, Shreddy Kreuger, Maybe Later, Know Your Enemy, Sweet Tooth, Makeshift, Pine Street, Craving Strange and MORE!

This week on the BOX... a LOT!
DJ talks about the upcoming REVEL 9 show at The Paramount! *takes bow* He discusses how teenage "him" is mad-excited to opening for Ratt, but how adult him is focused solely on the importance of doing a good job here - not performance-wise - but the "everything else" that goes into and around a show at this level of production.
He also talks about how things you learn on the sports field in second grade really do (and should) change the person you are and the one you're going to become, he unveils yet another "pillar" of his (eventual) run for Congress (or the Presidency) and he has a "few words" for all soccer coaches out there.
The importance of Friday's Revolution show, Andy in the shower, Wahmann's Whenever Music of the Week, Jimmy G's "double doody" and MORE!
This ain't your mom's lunchbox.
Music from Jackknife Stiletto, Crash Transit, Last Turn Off Broadway, Senses Fail, Sweet Tooth, I See Stars, Scared20, All New Epsidoe, Craving Strange and MORE!
