Continuing our discussion last week on the responsibilities of the Christian life, we talk this week about submitting to authority. God has placed earthly authority in this world, from the head of state to the officials appointed in the offices around us. We are told repeatedly throughout the New Testament that Christ will return again. The question is: are you ready for His return? The truth is that we need to keep ourselves pure, free from sin, so that when He comes we can greet Him with joy and open arms. Join us as we discuss just how to do that.

At one point, Jesus tells the crowds that follow Him that on the last day many will come and say they did great works in His name, and He will say that He never knew them. This is a very sobering statement from Christ, that we could spend our lives working for Him and yet never be known by Him. Join us as we listen to Ethan struggle with this truth, and how we can have a relationship with Christ in which He knows us.

New Year's Day is an opportunity to take a step out of busy lives to remember the past and redefine our priorities for the future. God is the most important thing in our lives, and yet we often do not put Him first in our lives. This morning we discussed how to put our relationship with God first. Jesus gave us a perfect example of putting God first, and having a strong relationship with God. Join us as we learn more about choosing to spend time with God and finding refreshment in this process.

How would you define who you are? Do you define yourself by your work? By your hobbies? By your relationships? The most important part of our identity is that we are Children of God. This is not just an aspect of us, but a essential truth of our being. Peter describes two key elements of our identity in Christ: we are living stones in His spiritual temple, and we are His holy priests.
