Receiving his degree from Michigan State University’s School of Hospitality Business, Bob Fish has been Chairman of the Board of the Michigan Restaurant Association, Chair of the Small Business Association of Michigan, and was a Founding Board member of MiQuest, a Michigan entrepreneurial incubator. With all of this under his belt, on March 15, 1995, Bob Fish and Michael McFall founded BIGGBY® COFFEE with a single store in East Lansing, Michigan. One year later, and on the cusp of opening a second location, the two entrepreneurs, on a handshake and $4,000, decided to franchise the concept. BIGGBY® COFFEE’s cultural values of Make Friends, Have Fun, Be Yourself, and Share Great Coffee help coffee-lovers and the coffee-curious alike benefit from a less pretentious and fun approach to the standard gourmet cafe paradigm.
Today, there are 239 locations in nine states. Bob enjoys walking, mainly around Saugatuck, MI.

Heads up: If you're just tuning into this miniseries, we'd love it if, before clicking play on this episode, you'd go back to our feed and take in Parts I & II. We'd also love it if you'd subscribe to Hatchcast, rate & share us with your friends, too.
Today we continue our series, checking in with 2020 Spartan grads. We've all had a topsy-turvy-volatile-deadly-anxious-weird-bombshell year—which in turn inspired our team to create this miniseries within our ongoing podcast production. With Part Three, we continue to turn to those who inspire & heal.
Our team is proud to get the opportunity to sit down with 2020 Spartan grads and ask them about their experiences and what they wish for those graduating this coming May.
From all of us at The Hatchcast, enjoy!
Bri Makaric (Advertising Management, 20') is a legend. She's also the founder & CEO of BRITE bites — a growing, healthy snackfoods company. Around the Burgess Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Bri's known for her tenacity, grit, & indefatigable hustle. Last week marked one year since the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic. It’s been one year since students, faculty, & staff were sent to work and learn from home. We here at the Hatchcast were no exception. A topsy-turvy-volatile-deadly-anxious-weird-bombshell year inspired this miniseries we're calling Spartan Successors. Today, we offer Part Two, continuing to turn to those who inspire & heal. Our team is proud to sit down with 2020 Spartan Graduates and ask them about their experiences and what they wish for those graduating this coming May.
