So this is our 11th episode in the Tarantino Series thus far, and yet this is considered the 8th Tarantino film, hence, the title. We explain this strange way to count up to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and then fail to count properly ourselves in the next segment. But what we lack in kindergarten math skills, we hopefully redeem with our readings on this film, which many consider to be quite the puzzler.

The non-spoiler first half sets the stage by going behind the scenes, by analyzing the numbers, the cinematography, soundtrack, performances, and the homages to other movies in the script. Then we break down that plot, all our bests & worsts, Tarantino’s writing habits, the easter eggs, and connections to the Tarantino-verse in our spoiler section. It’s another massive movie review for one more Quentin re-watch before we see his new film.

If you enjoy this review, you can find the rest in our recent catalog, or in one handy playlist on that tab in our Soundcloud. We’ve reviewed the first 8 films of Tarantino, and we did a Top 5’s episode on the burning questions we need answered in Once Upon a Time. If you can’t get enough talk about QT, then you should also check out our recent MMO Weekly variety shows, where we’ve covered all of the trailers & side stories related to this massive release. Then be sure to listen to our Mid-Year Oscar Report, where we discuss all of the front runners, likely noms, and wildcards for each major race to the Academy Awards.
