Atheism, rooted in free will and separation from God, parallels Amalek’s defiance and the snake’s deception in Gan Eden, leading to false knowledge and spiritual death. Joy, especially through mitzvahs, nullifies this darkness and reconnects with divine presence. The half-shekel represents this joy, which ultimately countered Haman’s decree and highlights Hashem’s hidden yet precise intervention.
