The greatest weapon we wield as Christians is the Sword of the Spirit "which is the word of God." But a sword is 2 edged and only as useful as its wielder. How do we best use the most powerful weapon in the world?

Jesus's death on the cross not only served as the ultimate act of forgiveness, it saved us from the very destruction of our souls. Our salvation protects us from damnation. But it also serves as a powerful lens through which we view the world and others.

Our faith might just be our greatest defense against the evils of this world. But how strong is your faith? And do you know how to use that shield of faith in the middle of the spiritual battles we face?

Even Jesus needed John the Baptist to help pave the way for His gospel. As Christians, we are told to put on the sandals of the preparation of the gospel of peace. How are we preparing others to better receive the gospel?

The Armor of God calls on us to wear righteousness on our breasts. But it is not our own righteousness, but God's. Whose wisdom do we lean on? And how often are we ignoring God's righteousness for our own sake and comfort?

"Gird your waist with the belt of truth". We live in the age of fake-news and alternative facts. The truth is quickly becoming a rarity in modern society. As we wear the "Whole Armor of God", it is vital that we always believe in the truth that is the word of God.

We spiritually battle not against flesh and blood, but powers and principalities. But what happens when we are at spiritual war with our friends, family, and enemies. We pray. We pray for our enemies like their (and our) lives depend on it.  

On July 4th, we Americans celebrate our freedom and remember the lives of those who paid for it. Let us not forget Jesus, whose blood was spilled so that we could know freedom from our sins.

There are 3 fundamental truths in the universe. There is a God. You are loved. And you were handcrafted for a marvelous purpose. Sometimes, that can be hard to believe because the world can be a terrible place. But we have been called on by our Creator to help shepherd His people.
