The Haunted Corner

On November 10th, 1985, a hunter was walking through the woods in Bear Brook State Park in Allenstown, New Hampshire, when he stumbled upon a large steel drum. Inside the drum was two bodies that had been dismembered and wrapped in plastic. 15 years later, on May 9th of 2000, a second steel drum was found in the same area containing two more bodies.  It would take 17 years to find the killer, and even longer for the victims to be identified. But that is not the end of this mystery. This is the twisted story of the Bear Brook Murders.

In today’s episode, I’m covering the strange disappearance of the Jamison family. Bobby, Sherilyn and Madyson Jamison disappeared from Red Oak, Oklahoma on October 8th, 2009, their bodies were eventually discovered but what really happened to them, remains a mystery to this day.

According to the National Park Service statistics, 330 deaths occur each year on the 85 million acres of the United States 423 park sites. It’s not uncommon for people to get lost when hiking. People sometimes become disoriented or get injured. But when the dismembered bodies of 4 people were found in parks in the southern United States, it became clear that that wasn’t the case.This is the story of Gary Hilton, also known as the National Park serial killer.

On the morning of July 2, 1937, a female pilot and her navigator, took off from New Guinea, on one of the last legs in their historic attempt to circumnavigate the globe. Their next destination was Howland Island in the central Pacific Ocean, around 2,500 miles away.  The trailblazing female pilot had already set several aviation records, and she was looking to set another by becoming the first woman to fly around the world. But something went wrong on this attempt, and the pilot, her navigator and the plane were never seen again. The pilot was a woman named Amelia Earhart, and this is the story of her life and disappearance.
